Actually I would love to post on this thread but I didn't post anything only to maintain the spirit of PG and in interest of you all who go sarcastic when I post something in this regard. I know you all must have posted detest subject matter when I would have posted that I am not joining UBS, even though I too have converted it, as I have a good offer in hand, which even mba passouts find difficult to get in these times.If you are happy to join , I am really happy for you. Congrats .But actually converting it wasn't a very big task if one has above 96-97 %ile whatever you do in later stages of selection. The real test will begin after you pass out from here,believe me.
Do come back to this thread and do some introspection after 2-3 months of stay there,you will realize the difference as you communicate with students of other B schools.

wrt to people with 96-97 %ile getting it easy, it wasn't dat easy cuz ubs people were considering %age not %ile and two persons having difference of 6 %ile points have difference of just 1 percentage point. i know a girl with 96.xx% ile who isn't among top 200 in gen category.
there are many allegedly reputed colleges which give 60-70% weightage to cat %ile so it's easier to get admission there.

u will get to know abt the session commence date on yr counselling day itself. fyi senior batch classes start on 16th july '09. Hostels are alloted once the session commences and juniors usually get a double occupancy room.

Hello.. first of all.. thanx to "Keshav" who is taking so much pains and clarfying all the queries... kudos to u sir.. now its time for u to help another serious UBS aspirant!! :-)

1) My rank in UBS chandigarh gen category (2009-11) is 73 on website, and 74 in the letter... at this rank what are the prospects of getting MBA gen??

2)when will the classes start for the season 2009-11?

3)will we be allowed to have a look at the hostel facilities at the counselling day..??

4)does UBS need NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE from the previous employer?? or only migration certificate from the institute last attended (college)will suffice??

1) chances for gen are very bleak, u can aim for ib
2)most probably on 15th july
3)ya u can go anytime and check the hostel facilities
4) ya u have to submit migration certificate and an affidavit stating that wat u hav done in ur gap time(studies gap)

hii keshav sir,
do u have any information baut the no. of people placed frm specifically"IB" this year..bcoz recently i read an article in TOI, stating 50% placements in UBS, but its not specifying baut particular branches...
and u being a student of IB itself, it wud be very pleasant if u cud give us some rough idea about , highest pakage and % placement in IB in particular!
