What percentile in Quant would make it 10 marks? Just curious.

PS: If UBS keeps 10 marks as cut off and it makes it more percentile than the one quoted above, I would not be surprised if they have to change the criteria itself.

If you are unable to figure out what I mean; imagine an ideal scenario where a person gets 60 percentile in each section; he would have an 80 something percentile overall already, I believe. And, that was an ideal case. So, a percentile above that, even in one section, you know what that would result into.

10 marks in QA means 53.94 percentile
10 marks in DI means 38.92 percentile
16 marks in VA means 61.05 percentile

Which is not very high as colleges like FORE and IMI also have sectionals at about 50-60 percentiles.

We can't say that having sectionals is bad on UBS part , as they have told this well in time. And moreover we should respect each colleges admission procedure. And this is probably done as " we are expected to show our competence in all sections".

As far as getting students who fulfill this criteria wont be a prob as people with as low as 10+10+16 = 36 marks are eligible which means just 51.69 percentile. So there will be enough students who full fill eligibility conditions and have above 51.69 percentile.

This year they cant change the admission procedure as they wont go against the handbook they have provided, cant say about next year admission procedure , they can change it if they don't like it.

It seems to be that easy but they might actually have problem getting enough people to fulfil the criteria. If they call 6 people for each seat earlier, this year it might just be 2:1 (if they keep the criteria). I am not very good at calculating probability but if you can, you would see that there would be a significant drop in people who can get call with this criteria. Neither the number of applicants is going to increase significantly nor the overall percentile should increase too much.

Secondly, I believe UBS also gives a very high weightage (85%) to CAT score? If all this is true, then possibly the ratio of call getters: call converts would be 2:1 or max 3:1. [unless they ease the percentile criteria for work-ex guys or something like that]

It ofcourse is not bad. It is a fair competition. I just have this bad habit to discuss anything, even though I might not even be concerned about the whole thing.

I agree that there will be less people who will be called this time but I dont think there will be such a gr8 fall as u are anticipating. the reason is although 10% criteria seems that difficult to achieve but I dont think that a person willing to getinto some good B school like this is not capable of getting this much percent score. And IMI and FORE also consider 50% more or less this time the 10% score is around this range only. Dont compare colleges. Every college has its special way to screen people.

I would not like to go any further than what I said in my posts earlier, for it would be better to leave the discussions/arguements to those who have applied there and eager to see their results. After all these years, I have better things to do than anticipating the cut-offs for colleges.

Just wait for the final list and then we can come back and discuss here whether (or not) they stick to the criteria and the modifications/exemptions made, if any.

PS: Are you telling me that we should not compare colleges when it is you who has quoted names of 2 colleges in your post and I did not even mention/refer to any college in mine?
