hi guys,

i have a query.. would a person from south india who knows only one word in punjabi (tussi) and who has to think for 5 minutes before bringing out a complete hindi sentence be able to even survive in ubs.. i have heard that in chandigarh knowledge of hindi or punjabi is very very essential :sarcasm:..is tht the same case in ubs also

can any seniors comment on this..are there ppl from south india in your batch

In Chandigarh, people prefer to use 2 language the most: Punjabi or English. If you are fluent enough in English it is good enough. Literacy rate in Chandigarh is quite high I believe, and people do understand English.

life is pretty cool in UBS .as it is located in the most beautiful city of india and moreover its campus is in panjab university .so lots of exposure and full of opportunities
UBS is 40+ years old our 2008-2010 batch is exactly the 40th batch .you yourself can imagine its broad and well estaiblished alumini network .most of the companies which come in UBS are through its huge alumini base and it has past record of 100% placements since many years .last year average package was around 7.8 lacs as told by seniors .will post the exact figures of this year when i can see the figures myself .now our summer placements are about to start .last year maximum stipend given in summers was 40000 and that was by trident company

thnx a lot buddy for ur reply....i got another query which is due 2 one of the threads inpagalugy...it states that UBS has stopped participating in ranking
s bcoz in one of the previous rankings false details wer published..and that was exposed in one of the dailies....cud u plz help me eith the relaibility factor...that thread really put some doubts in my mind..plz help
n can u also help me wid the fee structure...i hav heard the fee here is amongst the lowest in the country..

and when will the forms 4 20092010 batch will be available...

there are 39 seats in general , 18 in IB and 18 in HR so total 75 seats in general category
fees strucrure is 8232 per semester(including books and all other university expenses like id cards etc) + 10000 for unversity & placement fund(one time charges) + 7000 per year hostel charges so total around 60000 for two years
u can see the return on investment
this is the cheapest college along with fms

whenever the forms will be out i will post the information over here
usually the forms are out one month before the cat paper and the last date for submission is one or two days before cat
as UBS is a govt college so dont expect too much from it in terms of infrastructure as everything has to pass through like a bill has to pass through our indian legislature
but we are doing our part and working on the improvement of website and other things
trust me all the facilities over here are at par with other colleges if not the best
it is one of cheapest and oldest college of india
everything here is so cheap living charges are also as like free
