What could be the probable cut off for VA?

damn i dont know how i performed so pathetically in va this time........last simcat i finally cleared all the cutoffs and got a rank but this time its back again to where i was...........and worse.............my scores-va-7ps-43di-70total-120.............it wud be a shame to again miss a rank dude to va.............definite strategy change next time........

perfect downslide in scores this simcat..tht too in the section i normally do well in..cant possibly clear the cutoff..the worst part is i dunno wht i did wrong.i went abt this simcat the same way as others.. did eng first as usual.. but terrible accuracy and hence.. terrible marks..my marks are as follows..
quant - (5c1w,7c1w) - 44.5(happy with quant for the first time)
di - (9c1w,6c5w) - 41.5
verbal- (5c2w,3c7w) -11.5
oa -97.5
my worst performance in a single section ever!wont clear cutoffs by a huge margin!

VA should be around 24-28, they themselves said it was pretty difficult so i guess that should be the way!

My scores for this sim

DI Score 35 ( attempt - 9 C -9)
QA Score 20 ( attempt - 6 C -5)
VA Score 17 ( attempt - 7 C -6)
OA Score 72

Total attempts 22 C 20 Horrible!!!!!!!!

1. Out of the questions attempted only 2 were wrong. (accuracy was good)
2. My exam started by 10.15 and the OMR was collected back @ 12.30 sharp I lost 10 - 15 min valuable min which I allocated for VA.
3. My QA and VA score is not good. Also DI is low compared to the above toppers. What should I do?? Whether my speed is less??

Please give me some feedback

After the highs of first few mocks, I was put back in place in this mock. I never gathered momentum and made some silly mistakes in DI. Messed up a complete set which was probable the easiest 5 marker set. Anyways, my scores are :-

DI - 43
QA - 34.5
VA - 28

oA - 105.5

I have to say that VA was just from an another planet. CAT06 VA was considered tough but this was just too much. Add to that the even stricter negative marking and you have a section where 1 question can make or break things.

But I have to admit that this was another fantastic paper by IMS. Every Mock day, I get this feeling of having spent my 1500 in the best possible manner. Kudos to IMS guys.

well after finishing the paper it felt tht the the paper was a bit on the tuf side, in qa and eng, and after reading the posts it seems u guys. well all in all an avg day and a very sad score in va

Hi sri,
For va i can give you some advice which worked for me today.I was having big problems with va before this sim.Its just a matter of belief and practice.Also the basics must be good. Try to maximise your attempts in va when the negative marking is less,unlike today when much was at stake.For quant and di it all depends on how much you have practised.Your accuracy is good.See if the method given by ims guys is better than yours.Use those methods.Learn a few math tricks and implement them.

And the biggest thing which i noticed in the 15 seconds i read your post.You have been on pg for long but havent posted regularly.Keep posting your queries and solving the questions put on the threads. Get into cheering some dream team.This can help you in improving your scores by interacting with people who are good in their subjects.
