Xth - 87.2%
XIIth - 75%
Graduation - BE from Mumbai Univ..scored 65% aggregate
Work ex - 32 months in financial services company
Extra Currics - not much
My story goes like this...
CAT 05 - Dont ask me 
CAT 06 - 97%..QA did me
CAT 07 - 98.4% QA again
CAT 08 - swore i'd crack QA so ended up with a 99% in QA and DI but Law of Averages swore this time to spoil my English score but i'm still happy that i'm going to an IIM
CAT 08 - 99.47%
QA 99%
DI 99.5%
VA 93.2%
IIM Calls - I and K
GD/PIs
K - bad GD and weird PI
I - good GD and good PI
XAT 09 - 99.86% BM call
Awesome PI
FMS - MBA (FT and MS) both
FT - good gd and funny PI
MS - both were sad
Had an awesome interview at XL but result was sad...why..i have not been able to figure out
FMS FT..waitlisted..never checked again

I'm damn happy that four long years have finally paid off..im going to an IIM
This is for all the aspirants..just believe in your abilities. that is what it takes. i have had a very average profile (not my work ex though..but that also didnt happen easily) but i believed and i gave it my best.

Missed A by 1mark in verbal..... marked a question in the last second which i was not very sure of....and finally paid the price....... 
Extracurriculars : Almost Nil.....
About me :
Usually i am not good at GDs.....I stammer a lot while i speak in English although my english is grammatically perfect.......During my mock interviews and GDs everyone told me that as long as u look confident, stammering doesnt matter........it indeed doesnt matter if ur thought process is good and you are confident enough........
GDPI exp :
IIM B GD - avg PI - terrible....screwed up the questions on six sigma....
should have revised the management subjects i had....
IIM L GD - avg PI - too bad.....the moment my interview was over, i know its gone.....
IIM C GD - good PI - good ......pinned my hopes on it......
IIM K GD - good PI - okay.....the interview centred around my home town and Tamil literatures......
IIM I GD - good PI - great....... best of the season.....but my phone blared at the end of the interview....i apologized .....but it doesnt matter ....
My observation :
IIM A and B select students with good profile and good acads.....
I know many guys who even though performed well in IIMB interviews failed to convert it juz becoz their profile is avg......if u are nine pointer u stand a good chance of converting it.....Profile and acads count a lot.....the worst thing is iima doesnt even normalize the 10th and 12th marks....obviously ppl in boards like UP have a disadvantage here...Hope the criteria for IIMA changes next year.........
IIMC is the best iim as fas as im concerned......they take in ppl regardless of the profile and acads.....i know many five pointers managing to get into iimc.....but cat score counts a lot here......IIM K is on the same lines as IIM C......
If you have poor acads or not-so-great profile, dont bother abt it, IIM C and K gives you a fair chance to prove .......
but for all other iims acads speak.......I am not willing to talk abt IIM-S at all........unless you are nine pointer, even getting a 100 percentile wont fetch you a call from IIMS......
Have some target institute and try to make into it........
Dont bother abt cutoffs in Mocks......unless your scores are consistent , it doesnt matter at all......go thro the selection criteria of all IIMs and find out where should you improve and work accordingly....try to involve urself in social activities especially if u have poor extracurriculars ....Never become bogged down by top-performers.......there are two kinds of ppl cracking CAT ....one who is a born genius.....these ppl will crack CAT at anytime with 99.7 and above.....and other is ppl like me who has put in consistent efforts to improve.......if u fall in the latter category u definitely have to work hard and smarter.........and final piece of advice......never ever guess in Quants or DI......but in case of VA, there is always some amount of luck associated......
