A - decent essay, superb pi. had a "euphoric" feeling after giving the pi. u can check my signature for the pi.
B - avg gd, good pi. dunno how i got rejected.
C - avg gd, not-so-good pi. was a pure HR interview, messed up things.
L - good gd, decent pi. rejection was a touch harsh.
I - best gd of my life, best pi as well. absolutely shocked as to how couldnt convert this one.
K - poor gd, average pi. shocked at conversion.

i think contrary to low gd weightage, it does play some role. & i think PI has a weightage far far more than what is stated. and i definitely think that this time around, NOT being an engineer helped. even they want a diverse background, and nearly all the ppl whom i met had an engineering background. finally, i think ppl should relax as much as possible. i was tensed before my C pi, and hence messed it up. i grew extremely frustrated, and played like hell on my comp for the next 2-3 days (i had C on 14th march morning and A on 17th march afty). didnt prepare anything for my A pi separately. was absolutely chilled out on the day of A pi, while others were supertensed. thr were 5 of us from kgp, and we were laughing and cracking jokes, while the others were staring at us as if we
were aliens . so it definitely helps if u r relaxed.

I had calls from C and K. Among others I had one from IIFT, Delhi, which I considered as a practice match rather than an option. Couldn't get calls from XLRI and FMS and also from SPJ despite of a decent profile and fair CAT %ile. That was because of my incomplete form which I realised when the 2nd list from SPJ for GD and PIs was out. But I wanted to take the best shot at the IIMs.

Interviews at IIFT and K did go well... but I knew that C is the place where I can do and thanks to my mentors espcially Malay sir and my friend Arvind I have got what I want

I frankly believe profiles have little to do with converting and not converting calls. Because I have been on both sides of the fence in 2 consecutive years, in rather dramatic fashion.

Anyway, inspite of that, here I go....

@downandout : you got what you deserved. Period. The fact that you got 98+ when you were in such a horrible state is itself indicative of your abilities. Go for it, I'd say !

Rejects - L (was my best gd/pi ) A(Expected - was called a spoilt brat, compared with a drunk driving case- Alister pereirra , fought with the panel about Gregory david roberts , Panel made a statement saying how can criminals teach us abt charity, i got all worked up and asked the panel to refrain from making such statements coz aussies also include aborigines and also lower class migrated brits who werent criminals but hardworking ppl....knew by then that i was out of A , then they took my case and i just went with "Stress" flow....what i foundstrange in all my interviews is that when it came to acads....i cant understand the panel asking pure tronics stuff to comps grads working in an I.T. company, happened with me in all my interviews, hence was well prepared for C as it was last IIM interview.
