Hi puys,
Congrats to all those who cracked it
My profile :
Graduation: B.Tech. ECE engg. from Jaypee University of Information Technology, Solan (H.P.)
XII: 68% (state board, Jharkhand)
X: 76% (state board Bihar)
WorkEx: 5 months in IT

Calls: A,C, I, K (Did not apply for any Non-IIM college)
Converted: C,I,K
About GD :
Though I talk a lot, I curbed my instincts slightly during all my GDs. The thing that perhaps clicked for me was my attentive listening (which I took care of reflecting, thru my body language too) & the ability to speak only at the right moment, a gentleman's approach I call it. I rarely interrupted anyone & even if it meant that my airtime was always below average, in hindsight, I was able to dispel any aura of negativity about me.
About PI :
All my PI's were good/above average, my deep interest in literature helped me a lot.
Of course, standard disclaimers apply i.e. this set of experience is my personal experience only, it may or may not click for any fellow puy.
Heading to Joka
Thanks a lot pg & buddy puys, your support played a very crucial role in my success. | | | | | The Following 7 Users Say Thank You to Herr_shanky For This Useful Post:

My Profile:
X: 85% CBSE
XII: 66.8% CBSE
B.E. (Civil): 61.9% Panjab University
Extra Curriculars: Not exceptional, but decent enough with recognition in drama, some voiceovers, writing, etc..
Experience: nearly 6 years in training and training consulting Previous CAT experience: CAT 02: 97.5 OA CAT 07: 99.30 OA with 99.31 in QA, 91.98 in VA and 96.23 in DI
Calls: IIML, MDI-PGPM and MDI-NMP
Converts: IIML, MDI-PGPM, MDI-NMP
Interview Experience:
I thought I had a pretty decent-ish GD, with 3-4 contributions, and some completely new and different points. Some of the points were appreciated by the batchmates during the GD too.
It was my first interview of the season, and barely lasted 10 minutes. I'd say it was below average, coz I was nervous, stammering, and mumbling. I did give a couple of good answers though, which may have helped me in clinching it.
P.S. Not writing about other interviews here, obviously, since this is primarily an IIM convert thread. | | | | | The Following 8 Users Say Thank You to sumitrocks For This Useful Post:

Hello puys!
my journey for CAT began sometime in 2006, reached a tragic low on 19th november 2006( the D-DAY) , and led me into the precincts of PAGALGUY , looking primarily for some good preparatory material for CAT 07, and also for some motivation .
soon i realised that PG was a strong addiction, and i could not imagine a day without PG. though, i must admit, i have been passively involved with the site so far.
then came CAT 07, followed by an astounding result , some anxious weeks of GD/PI preparations , some more anxious weeks in waiting for the result and finally the results.
PG was there with me, through all of this.
and thanks to all this, i now get the honour of posting on this hallowed thread on PG.
as for the stats, here goes:
calls: A,C,L,I,K
converts:L,K
waitlists: I
joining: L
i wont comment on the interview experiences, nor will I venture to give any tips to the future aspirants. frankly speaking, even as of now, i am not able to make out the head or tails of what they look for in an interview.
all i can say is that, converts or no converts, the experience of an IIM interview is unforgettable.
regards,
devang.
PS: not to forget, in the process of GD/PI preps, i made a lot of good friends | | | | | The Following 6 Users Say Thank You to devang_parikh For This Useful Post:

Hi everybody,
I never thought I would get the opprtunity to post in this thread but here i am today. I feel i am one of luckiest people to have made it to the iims. From getting a meagre 23 in Verbal and a small total of 105 after CAT, I finally landed up with 120 marks total( don't know how my answers in verbal matched with that of the iims)- Ended up with a modest 99.40 and clearing cutoffs for all IIMs. After 3 unsuccessful attempts, I finally reached here in my fourth attempt
Here's My profile and calls: Acads:

What would have attracted them: My Essay and my profile B:
GD+Essays: Very Good, My best GD Ever and good essays
PI: Rocking PI, Spoke very well- My best interview as well.

GD: Average
PI: Below Average
Verdict: Selected for PGDCM
Did I expect this?: No. I was expecting a convert in PGDM as well.
What would have bugged them: Gave a very casual answer for Why MBA and gave a stupid answer for a simple maths problem. L:
GD: Crappy topic. All spoke non sense
Essay: Pathetic Essay
PI: Below Average
Verdict: Selected
Did I expect this? : Not initially. I was initially expecting a reject. But then my percentils were high and had a good profile so thought that i should get through. I:
