Just for the records, My IIMI and IIMC interviews were too good to be true. I don't know what went wrong ! Rejected in IIMC and Waitlisted in IIMI. IIMA was better than normal - Rejected. IIML was average (If not less) to be very precise, didn't get any feel as to what would happen. But as usual surprises, it converted. IIMK was very bad, but still waitlisted. I can only say that these calls are full of surprises. We can never predict what the final result's gonna be. So ATB to all puys. Keep RockiN !

IIML : Had an average GD (6/10) and sub 5 minute interview with no major questioning. Converted.

IIMI : Good GD(7/10) and a okayish PI(6/10). Converted.

IIMA : Horrible PI(3/10). Couldn't answer one branch question and the only math question asked!! Few work related and cricket Qs saved me i guess. Interview went around for 12-13 mins as against the average 20 mins. Converted.

IIMK : Horrible GD(0/10) Didn't speak at all!!. Horrible PI (1/10) didn't speak much here either!! I was asked to speak on any topic of my choice for 3 mins in interview because i didn't open my mouth in the GD. Rejected

IIMC : Bad GD for the whole group! We were stopped after 5 mins!! Bad summary too. PI was very vague with Qs on VLSI design and semiconductors(I am not an elec engg). Probably my clarity of goals saved me here. Converted.

Guys, only preparation I did for gd pis is to go through this particular thread and threads of last year interviews. It helps a lot. It helps you know what to expect in which interview and what are the things needed for a convert from each iim. If you have 2+ years experience, you can forget your math and branch related questions and get away with it.

GD: The case study was really good for me and I came up with a lot of innovative and new points....I think GD is the most important part in the 2nd stage and should be taken with all seriousness, you got to be amongst the top 2-3 speakers

PI: Was a good PI for me and the panel asked me a variety of questions on my work ex and engineering, I handled most of them quite well...

Really estatic after the result....

PS: Dont think I will be joining IIM Indore as I have also converted my FMS call

I cant believe I finally have a chance to post on this thread...
After 4 long years and 3 agonizingly close CAT attempts I am through...

My Profile:

X: 82% Andhra State board
XII: 86.4% ''
BTech: 73% in IST from Nagarjuna Univ

Extra Curriculars: Nothing great.. but regular participation and organization of events and sports.

Experience: nearly 5 years in an Indian SW gaint.

Previous CAT experience:

Cat 04: 97.9 OA with 99.XX in QA, 92.XX in VA and 85.XX in DI

CAT 05: 99.0 OA with 99.6 in QA, 99.2 in VA and 45.XX in DI

Went onsite after this debacle and came back in Oct 2007 just for CAT.
and now

CAT 07: 99.6 OA with 99.92 QA, 95.6 DI and 89.8 VA. (what will I do without QA )

CALLS: IIML, IIMI and MDI (SPJ dint even give me a call! god knows why)

Converts: IIMI, MDI..
waitlist: IIML(56) and hoping to clear this.

Int Experience:

IIMI: this is my first experience.. the GD was average as I was still warming up to the concept. The interview was decent though I had now answers for a lot of their questions: CONVERTED

IIML: The GD was decent and my contribution was good. The interview was horrible with me having no clue as to where it was headed. WAITLISTED

My feeling cant be expressed in words now...
