1st thing: Never ever try to predict anything about CAT 2008 by your estimates. Give your best shot.

2nd - BIMTECH Thread - http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/cat-an...s-welcome.html (Bimtech Admission-2008 Queries Welcome!!!!!!)

3rd - This is OBC thread please search the threads before posting.

4th - Please do not post multiple posts.

5th- BIMTECH is not one of the GREAT college if you check the Pagalguy ranking. Also, the placement would be around 4 lac [As told by one of my friends.. not official]

I am no sir dude... Anyways, this year each IIM (barring IIM S which already has its 27 % quota in place) would be reserving approximately 15 - 18 % of its total intake for candidates belonging to Non-creamy OBC category. And about cutoffs, at this stage, even the IIMs would not be in any position to help you out on that front.. But yes, to begin with, you may take the cutoffs provided by IIMA as the tentative cutoffs... Though its very much possible that even clearing those cutoffs will not fetch you a call from an IIM.. It all depends upon the question paper and the performance of students in CAT 2008.. So instead of speculating about the cutoffs, try to put in your 100 % efforts into your CAT preparation...

All the very best!!!

Hi Do_or_DIE,

The Tasildar in my native has refused to give OBC - Non-Creamy Layer. He is saying that my salary should also be included while calculating Total Income.

I think that should not be the case. So i would like to use the RTI. Can you give me your suggestion? Which doc i can give as a reference while i file the RTI..

1.My parents are Class C government employees. We don't have any other business.
2.I am working and earning more than 2.5Lak.

Thanks,
Vinoth

Dear Vinoth
What I think anyway 4.5 will be the new celing .So Just study well and wait for approval from central Govt. Then You will get the certificate. The difference was 1%ile last year between OBC and OC for IIM-A call .Now Just study well All the Best. Do not waste your precious time in RTI....Just wait for govt decision on 4.5 lac matter ....

Regards

Hi Do_or_DIE,

Thanks for your immediate reply. Actually i have been working in this s/w industry for more than 3years and i am earning more than 5Lac now. I am trying my best to do well in the exam.

My father had a tough time with the Tasildar, when he tried to get the Certificate. Even though that certificate may not be usefull this year, as i have already submitted my form, i have decided to get that for the sake of my father's effort, In case i am elligible for that.

Can you tell me whether i am legally elligible to get that certificate. Tell me if you need any information to answer that.

Thanks,
Vinoth
