Hi ragsjce- I think here we will not get the right exposure for discussing quant or DI related queries. I think PG's quant/DI thread is best in this regard.

However we can discuss other strategies for improving our scores in MOCK CATS. I think whatever be your amount of preparation, it now boils down to yours test taking skills. What I have realised after giving 4 mock CATs is that in a set of 25 questions there is always some 7/8 simple questions which can help u in clearing cutoffs. Rest depends on your speed and accuracy. So trick is in finding these questions from rest and solving them first.

It will be good if we can discuss about these small but important practices which will help us in scoring good marks.

Guys, count me in. About me, I have 2+ years of experience in IT. Gave last year and got 83.XX percentile. I had converted SIBM, but decided to give a serious try this year. Have joined TIME test series; got 78.XX percentile in AIMCAT018. So that shows where I stand, and how much do I need to work hard. Rest of the guys tell us about yourself. And let's share our experiences, strategies and problems too

yes they do, but only if you are not able to appear for CAT and yes they also demand the reason and proof for that... possible reason as per IIMs could be that u were not in india, say u were on international deputation
and for their Executive course they accept only GMAT score!

for the ppl who are confused how to go abt preparation... only thing i would like to advise join a test series.. .and start working on ur basics... and do not get depressed in case u get really low scores in the aimcats/simcats/mockcats whatever it is...

just try to improve everytime... there are ppl who start with as low as 10%ile and finally make it to IIMs...

usuallly cutofs are decided on those 7-8 easy questions onl;y ... as they classify those question as easy so as per them most of the junta should be able to crack atlease 7-8 questions...

Yup buddy,
I do agree. There were many converts who started from the scratch and made it to their dream institutes.
Joining a test series will definitely help but the real task lies ahead. That is,analyzing the test paper after appearing for the exam.Take time to solve the paper in home. It will help you all to understand the questions in a broader way and will definitely be a boon in the long run.
As rsm_kvk has suggested-- Basics are the most important part.
And do not fumble over your mock CAT scores but of course try to improve the scores in every other mocks that you will be taking.

The most difficult phase of life is not when no one understands you.
It is when you do not undestand yourself.

Hi guys,
Count me as well in the war of supremacy. I have a different opinion on the subject.
on 1 thing we should be clear that what purpose is this thread meant for?
We should not mix queries with problems we face in prep .
while we all have diff diff threads for preparation and problem related problems, We should use this thread for our general CAT related queries for the reserved category. Just like wt B school ,Wt % tile . wt special efforts .etc etc .

Wt u say guys!!

PS: Its totally Personal Opinion & May differ from Puys.

Guys, we can share our previous year's experiences regarding CAT & Other tests attempts. How many of you have joined the Mocks? Please share the experiences about how you did, and most importantly how you could have done better, with everyone in this forum so that all can learn from the mistakes.
