40,636 students taking the test is actually shocking... I'm guessing this year the number of aspirants is gonna hit 4L.

Agree with Navneet on the lack of activity...

Well guys regarding lack of activity, agree with navneet tat its owing to the lack of discussions here...
Had suggested this earlier also tat ppl can help by posting some concepts, with questions tat v can solve and then discuss...Arpit or Jaydev can help out on this...doesnt mean in anyway tat others cant come forward n do it...
Regarding VA, v can discuss things like UDLI (if any1 has explanations for it..), among other things...
or some good Q's tat u found in some other thread tat involved some gud trick, or some really gud FIJ, PJ anything, then it can be posted here...

Initiatives needed, suggestions welcome...

I think mainly the absence of puys is lack of useful discussions on this thread...As soon the useful discussions will resume..everyone will come back...

I propose posting questions from every section and solving so that the activity remains intact on this thread and we don't lose touch. Also, if you feel that the concerned topics' threads are already present and we don't need a discussion here...even then we can have some seleted files and questions na....so that the concept of MM comes alive again...from the hibernation...

Again recalling everyone out there to join and contribute for the good of all of us..

Waiting for replies...

Hey Navneet,

I feel the same way. In fact I keep checking this thread in hope to see some nice discussions here. I have once posted earlier to request people to kindly share their strategies in DI. I mean what questions they chose. I do badly in that section because of poor selection and I needed help in that. Also in QA there are always some innovative ways in which you solve a particular question in QA in examination condition. Kindly share the question from mocks and your approaches to them where you thought you used something which helped you to solve the question easily and in quick time. Looking at scores of some of the people here in this team I'm sure they have a lot which they can share to help us

MY scores for AIMCAT 0909:

VA - 14(81.19)
DI - 17(85.47)
QA - 20(91.63)

OA - 93.12

Not all that good, but given the scores of last few weeks i am more than happy to have scored this much.

My Blog / My Mock Scores
CAT-2007: 99.43%ile (2 calls NO Converts)
CAT-2008: A pathetic total of 122 only.

If everything is coming your way, BEWARE; you might be on the wrong lane.

Hey Vivek, Guess what you will have company next AIMCAT onwards. i am coming to trivandrum and it would be great catching up with you.

I've got my Date of Joining from TCS and am coming there on 17th September. Can you just tell me where the mocks are conducted there and where you give them. Would be fun giving the mocks at the same centre. What say?

Re: [PG Premier League] Mumbai Dream Team - 05-09-2008, 04:11 PM

Hmm as suggested posting one question here.. Have seen these kind of questions many a times in time mocks and otherwise. Help me with this concept

Find how many integral solns of the following equation are there

|x-18| + |x-9| + |x+9| + |x+18| = 54

1> 1
2> 19
3> 37
4> 27

PS : - I find similar problems where instead of || , [] function is given quite difficult to understand.

Re: [PG Premier League] Mumbai Dream Team - 05-09-2008, 04:41 PM

Solution to the above problem :

Whenever there are modulus functions, it's better to split them into intervals...
like in this case
1. x>=18
2. 9<=x<18
3. -9<=x<9
4. -18<=x<-9
5. x<-18

Now...for the above cases...u get equations as below:

1. 4x=54 => x = 37/2 => not possible
2. 18-x +3x+18 = 54 => 2x = 17 => x = 17/2 =>not possible
3. 54 = 54 => x = -9, -8, -7, ......, 0, 1, 2, .....,8 =>18 solutions
4. 4x-18 = 54 => 4x = 72 => x = 18 => total = 19 solultions
5. No solution again here as well....

Answer : (2) -> 19 solutions
