now that the team is taking shape,
i suggest we can write down our queries/suggestions on how to plan better for a test and sort out our weaknesses
for e.g. i am not particularly quick in answering Qs,..my average attempts wud range from 8-11 per section a month back to about 12-13 now
but to ace a test, at least 17-18 attempts are needed,...wat say guys?
if the pros here have any suggestions to increase speed,..pls help
thanks
Its not a Question of attempting more Questions that matter.
Its the accuracy that counts.
Even if you attempt 12 Q out of 25, you still stand a chance of clearing cut-off's with a good accuracy.
So rather than just concentrating on the speed it is the accuracy that matters.

I can say so by my personal experience, as even i have almost the same number of attempts as you have but have cleared the cutoffs every time.

My Blog / My Mock Scores
CAT-2007: 99.43%ile (2 calls NO Converts)
CAT-2008: A pathetic total of 122 only.

If everything is coming your way, BEWARE; you might be on the wrong lane.

Even i would opt for the Mumbai Mavericks as it sounds more like the puys attitude.

As far as the VA is concerned i scored an 18 in SIMCAT 2 with a %ile of 98.03.
Even in CAT 07 my VA score was 47 with a %ile of 99.77.

So i can take the risk of calling myself decent with VA.
Any doubt on that front can be helped out by me and i would love to do so as well.

U have a gr8 point there but i guess this may also vary from person to person.... like for me VA has alwayz been the weak link... n i alwayz used to b over careful while doing that section... i generally ended up doing 12 to 13 questions... out of which at least 5 wud certainly go wrong n i wud never clear the cutoffs....
but in the last few tests iv increased my attempts to atleast 20 to 22... in that case i alwayz get at least 10 to 12 correct and as it is... i am able to clear the cutoffs....
so its like for me my accuracy is generally always in the range of 50 to 75 %....
so i guess ppl should try all sorts of things before settling down to one strategy.....

but of course....... no such heroics in quant or di....!!!!!!!!

Re: Nominations for Mumbai Rockers - 02-07-2008, 02:55 PM

I would like to nominate myself. Following is my profile accordingly:

CAT 2007 - 95%ile (VA proved to be the nemesis inspite of attempting the most ques and devoting the max time to it)

2008 story so far:
AIMCAT 19 - 93.50%ile with 99%ile and above in QA (The Time andheri authorities told me that i scored the most (41) in QA in mumbai circle. That was a big surprise to me )

AIMCAT 18 - 94.45%ile(VA - 99.77%ile (see the contract to CAT 2007)
QA - 75%ile (see the contrast wth the earlier one)

Waiting for the next one to see what new surprise is in store ...

@ anand

What we would require from your side(or for that matter from anyone who is nominating himself) is immense dedication to the thread.

I mean you should be actively involved in the team formation.

@ everyone.
I haven't seen many people putting up their list of nominations.
It might be an early stage but atleast post it and then modify it whenever you find someone capable of making it into the team.

Nominating yourself is one great step showing your enthusiasm.
However do try putting up your team so that it would be helpful for everyone to get opinions from each other and decide on a unified team.

Renaming this thread to [PG Premier League] Mumbai Dream Team to facilitate better searching and and visibility than the Nominations .. title.

Nice to see flicks of activity returning to this thread.
