Got robbed of 15 marks( 5 in each section).. had revised my score to 174 from 175 but gt 159.. Its too much of a regular occurence and is worrying me now!!! i ve been having scores less than wat i calculate and sometimes even more!!! crazy..!! the least i can do is mark OMR sheet properly..but as they say..sometimes even the most elemenatry things are difficult!!

Anyways, a lil disaapointed coz i was expcting a top 25 rank and pretty avg sectionals too..

IMS out with the percentiles as well... commendable as fr the first 4 sims, percentiles havent been out before thursday evening... anyway, disappointed with the PS percentile as its been the first time any of my sectional percentiles have dipped below 95.6, which is the benchmark percentile cutoff i believe ... anyway, here are my scores:
VA- 24.67/50 (97.67)
QA - 23.33/50 (94.3
DI - 36/50 (99.95)
OA - 84/150 (99.81)
AIR-37

it disappoints me more after some nice performances in the first 3 sims, my last 2 performances havent been upto the mark... after the last performance i thought it might be one off, bt after this, i believe i have some serious task at hand...

I thought OA cut off wont be higher than 60. But Competition is Fierce for Sure and People are scoring way too heavily.!

The results are a bit surprising, the gap between the top ranks is not much the topper is scoring just 188 ( considering a top score of 235 in Aimcat 0916). Most of the people are compressed together.

In Qu 34,,, Praful says -' I lied yesterday and I will lie again tommorrow'..

Take this as one whole sentence....now Praful lies on Mon, Tue and wed..

suppose its Monday..then he is lying....
so the imp point to note here is...even if one part of his sentence becomes wrong,,,its proved that he is lying.....

In this sentence ( if its monday), then he didnt lie yesterday,,hence his sentence is a lie.

If its a wdnesday,, then the part of the sentence ' I will lie again tomorrow' becomes false, hence the whole sentence is a lie....hence wed can also be the ans.

hence mon or wed can be the ans.

Hi,

Some Analysis of SIMCAT scores(nothing to do in Office :P)::

QA - 27 ( 97.61 ) and 31 (99.77)

DI - 28.67 (99.16) and 35.67 (99.67) and 36 (99.95)


Loads of dem scoring in QA and Zilch of them in DI.(reversal of the trend for sure)
I think max number of students appearing would be 20,000, with 0.5%ile of DI being covered by 100 students.

Also solve this::

a,b,c are positive integers. Find the number of possible solutions for a,b,c if

a+b+c = 38 and a^2 + b^2 +c^2 = 722 ??

largest no. out of a,b,c cannot be greater than 25 as
if a = 26, b+c = 12,
min (b^2 + c^2) = 36+36 = 72

largest no. out of a,b,c cannot be less than 23 as
if a =22,
b+c = 16
let b =15, c=1 max ( b^2+c^2 = 226) and 226 + 484(a^2) = 710 < 722

so,
largest no. can be 23,24,25

Nice Method!

I was taking the Long Way and was passing time with the Problem.

a+b+c = 38

Squaring both sides we get

ab + bc + ca = 361

So We have a cubic equation having sum of the roots as 38, Sum of two roots as 361.

So now i need Product of roots. Let us assume it to be P

x^3 - 38x^2 + 361x - P = 0

AAge ???
