so suppose, we need to find remainder when 59! is divided by 61...we can straight away mark it as 1......now comes the application
find remainder when 57! is divided by 61........
using the above funda,let x be the remainder when 57! is divided by 61.......
so 59*58*57! when divided by 61 gives remainder 1.......
or
(-2)*(-3)*x = 61 k + 1 (calculating R of 59/61, 58/61)
implies, 6x is of the form 61 k+ 1
x = (61k+1)/6 should have zero remainder and we have to find k
k=5 satisfies......implies x = 305+1 / 6 = 51
Hence answer is 51.............. | and this is nothing but extension of Wilson's theorem which says,
if p is a prime, then (p-1)!+1 is always divisible by p | | | | | The Following 4 Users Say Thank You to vineet.nitd For This Useful Post: | | | | | |

Hey guys
Extremely sorry for my sustained abscence. I would like to quit from the Manager's position as some domestic issues are going to keep me engaged and i cant do justice to this responsibility.

sorry for the interruption again.... FUNDOO FUNDA #2 SENTENCE CORRECTION now, there are many types of errors to be dealt with.. some of the common ones have been listed below: 1) subject- verb agreement 2) errors of modifiers i personally found this category most difficult to be dealt with.. not that it actually is all that hard to fit into the brains, but because i had been making this error throughout my life.. school as well as college.. the sentence in the answer sheet would be underlined in red ink (by the teachers) stating, "incorrect sentence framing"... wud admit that i never even bothered to check wat wud be ryt.. n no1 bothered to tell too... sigh! Eg: Bruised and battered, Ravi gave his car to the mechanic. Correct version- Bruised and battered, the car was given to the mechanic... 3) errors in usage of pronouns this is pretty simple... i guess all of you know the pronouns are used to remove redundancy, verboseness etc. but but... please do not mark the wrong option in the light of this.. Eg: Amit told Ameer that he should take his car to the party. in this sentence, it ain't clear that who's being referred to where.. 4) errors in the tense of verbs 5) errors of parallel form 6) errors in the use of idioms and phrases apart from these, there are certain errors which creep in... even in the daily conversation.. a) 'few' versus 'a few' remember: 'few'--> negative connotation 'a few'--> positive connotation b) ‘beside’ versus ‘besides’ beside: sitting/ standing beside some1… meaning: next to besides: in addition to… ‘besides all that has been mentioned in your resume, tell me what else are you interested in’ this was the first thing that struck me as an example.. (second round of placements is abt to start…) c) 'me' versus 'I'.. aha... my favourite.. Eg: Q- Who’s at the door? Ans: It’s I. Here is where many of us falter… if there is any confusion, break the sentence and look if the fragment can stand alone. Eg: Mom and I have to go to the market. Break break… 1) Mom has to go to the market. 2) I have to go to the market… (n not “me” has to go to the market… hope this helps) there might have been some which I have missed… but by and large, apun logon ka kaam chal jaayega is sab se.. p.s.: attended an IMS workshop on the same topic today… Aditi's here... oh, oh..! probably someone needs to pay heed to prez_bbe's post.. personal requests: 1) rather than fighting these china- minna battles over the date and venue of the meet, I suggest you start a poll!! 2) this is the more important one… can we please take up “permutations and combinations” next… mera thoda bhala ho jayega… Aditi's here...
