My pathetic performance of the season came in easy mock from IMS

SIMCAT-8

A Bad day for me overall

After reading the instructions thought that its another easy paper and 50 question section be gonna VA but to my astonishment i started off the paper and here goes bang ...

Pathetic Scores to say the least

All game for next one

DI: 5.25

QA: 17.50

VA: 16.25

OA: 39.00

Overall paper was easy donow what happpened to me at the center .......will not clear any cutoffs......i got screwed to the maximum level....

Just posting here to get some relief and threw out tension from my mind

Anyhow i need these kind of doses to be on the track.....

HAKUNA MATANA ..... Its a promise to all chennaities i will be with in top 200 in the next mock as that it my calliber.....

Have to add these three magic letters to my name and that too this year.

Verbal continues to give jitters to me

Now someone get cracking with these FIJs

1) Sustained lobbying by the West Bengal Left Front MPs has paid off.
2) The government will soon make it mandatory for government agencies to use jute products for packaging and other purposes.
3) The government's move is aimed at boosting the jute industry, which is one of the mainstays of the West Bengal economy.
4) In the past few decades, the jute industry had come under tremendous pressure from the synthetic sector, as their products were seen as being not only cheaper but also safer

IFIF JFJF JJFJ FFJJ IFJI

1) You could well draw the ire of feminists if you call them a whiff of fresh breeze in the dusty environs of fuel stations.
2) But Ashok Kumar, a Bharat Petroleum dealer, in Autonagar, swears they are.
3) In another instance of broken gender barriers, a few petrol pumps in the city are employing women in jobs so far considered to be male bastions.
4) There is business interest involved too - men are given to wayward behaviour, women are more committed, particularly in dealing with large amounts of cash.

IFFI JFFI IFFJ JFJI IFIJ

Please please explain with proper reasoning

1) To me, its looks like Judgement.
2) Fact
3) Judgement Again.
4) Fact. (although i feel this is an inference, since there is no such option, i go for fact.. )

My theory is that if you look confident you can pull off anything - even if you have no clue what you're doing.

My take is IFIF

1) has paid off - the event has already occured and hence you are making an inference
2) I think it should be an inference again, but looks like it is a fact
3) Inference - again, event has already occured and hence i think its an inference
4) Fact - no other option left

Cheers

My take::
search for a fact first as it is easy to identify
here it is 2 as this can be verified and then see for judgement it is the opinion of the narrator so see where he is stating the opinion here it is 3. Fight left between Option 2 and 5. 4 is also a fact as it can be verified whether pressure is there or not
So option 2

1) You could well draw the ire of feminists if you call them a whiff of fresh breeze in the dusty environs of fuel stations.
2) But Ashok Kumar, a Bharat Petroleum dealer, in Autonagar, swears they are.
3) In another instance of broken gender barriers, a few petrol pumps in the city are employing women in jobs so far considered to be male bastions.
4) There is business interest involved too - men are given to wayward behaviour, women are more committed, particularly in dealing with large amounts of cash.

IFFI JFFI IFFJ JFJI IFIJ

Here both statement 2 nad 3 are facts thats why option 3

its my humble attempt pardon me if any flaw is there or answers are wrong i am too weak in VA.....

, frankly speaking with other three as I,F and F (according to me ) i wasnt left with an option, but if you see the sentence, it says that Jute industry is one of the main stays of the West Bengal economy, and hence the mve is aimed at boosting the industry, so i think its an inference.

Please give the final answer

Cheers

PS: Murty is relaxing these days , Maverick, Ms K for help

If the event has already occured, isn't that a fact?
What is the author infering from the event that had occured?

so x should take maximum possible value to get maximised x^2 +y^2 + z^2

x = 45

y = 2

z = 1

so now 45^2 + 2^2 + 1^2 = 2030

so answer is 2030...

b)

2x^2 +5y^2 + 8z^2...

now coefficient of x^2 < coeeff of y^2 < coeff of z^2

so again we can use same values

x= 45 , y = 2 , z = 1

so maximised value (2 * 2025) + (5 * 4) + (1*8 ) = 4078

so the answer is 4078..
I think the answer for the first one is right
as x=45 and y=2 and z=1 is satisfying

but i doubt the second one
as x=1 ,y=30,z=2

gives the answer as 4534 ...

My take ::
1) 19/3
2) 24
3) X=2 and y=-7
4) a 2030
b 4534

can we have the answers please exile

Re: PG Premier League - Chennai Dream Team - 08-09-2008, 01:35 PM

thanks for providing fij's which i hav been looking for a long time to try my hand at!
Anyways for the first set,it is JJFJ- As it is clearly visible that second statement of the first set is a jugdement because it talks about future and even does not give any logical reason for saying so.Thus it is a Judgement And the only option that contains second statement as Judgement is JJFJ.So no need to see other options.
And for the second set of fij's,
it is JFFI
This is because 2nd & 3rd statements are facts as they can be verified(Facts are those that can be verified)
And 1st statement is not along any logical reason why they wud draw ire of feminist by calling women a whiff of fresh breeze.
And last one is an Inference as it is given that "buisness interest is also included" along with a logical reason that "women are more commited and ..."(because inference contains a judgement along with a logical reason for saying so whereas a judgement is only an opinion without any logical reason behind it)
Hope u like the explanations
