Let us all vote for our choice of kaptaan.. I personally feel anyone among Ravi/Srikanth wud best fit in. Indiana Jones is an amazing choice too. But he hasn't quite been on Chennai PG

u added ur name but u forgot to add obsessed_about_mba's name !!!!!!
hez also a senior puy with the same experience of mine when it comes to giving CAT and work ex..surprised to see his name not included in the poll !!!
on what basis were the names selected for the poll?????
i see ppl have voted for indian jones but how many ppl know him personally??
how many times has he come to the PG meets last season??
obsessed has been to more PG meets last season than indiana jones and shares a better bonding with us than jones..im not against ppl voting for him nor do i have any personal grudge against him but being a captain is not purely based on the mock scores..the puy should have been to PG meets and should have a good bonding with the puys..lets not do it the same way the other cities are doing..lets try to inject some thought and have a unique way to selecting a captain..this is my opinion..if ppl still feel its not worth it voting can go on..if being a captain is purely based on mock scores and prev CAT perfomances im sorry im opting out of this dream team..
so if some newbie tomorrow posts a mock score of 99.xx u guys will make him the captain is it???
A Captain should have more visibility..its like making ishanth sharma the captain in the next tour jus cos he was successfull in the last tour!!

I want a solid justification from someone on why obsessed_about_mba wasnt included in the poll..

P.S : if u still persist that the captain be made ur way(i.e purely on mocks scores) u can remove my name form the DT list.i second nishath on this thoughts.

All right, I think the role of the captain is as under

1) Should be able to coordinate team activities and gel the unit together
2) Should organize and schedule meets
3) Should co-ordinate with PG HQ and ensure that Chennai is aways in the thick of things
4) Should be well networked
5) Last but not the leas, he should keep track of the scores of the team members and ensure that things are ruunning moothly within the team

I personally feel a captain need not be the best performer in terms of percentiles in your team. This is like the logic, that your best player is the captain. And we have all seen how it works . Captaincy can be given to someone who will only perform better and better due to the additional responsibilities as Captain of a team, in addition to all the roles that I have listed above. We all know who can fit into the above scheme of things.

Hence my vote goes to ravi(getintoiimb). He might not be the greatest performer(he is not poor as well) in mocks right now, but I expect him to scale up very fast. And we all know he is more than capable of performing the role. Rest is up to you guys to decide. I have penned down my thoughts. Make a wise decision.

I completely agree with u but then if you puys have decided to select the captain by poll it is pity obvious that the best performer in mock cats will be selected. I m not trying to hurt anyone. You puys must have found lot of newbies and lot of other puys who dont attend PG meet but still they will take part in the poll. So who do you think will they vote?

to the one who is regular to PG meet and who can better co-ordinate things( which they have never seen)?

or to the one who have rocked mock cats(which they know)?

Its pity obvious that they will go the 2nd option. I would suggest to forget about votes and let the senior puys decide the best captain. rmbt,getintoiimb, kartik and few other seniors can probably enter into a conference chat and can decide one best captain.

P.S: My intention is to bring out the best possible way for selecting best captain and never to hurt anybody. Groans are welcome if I m wrong.
