Just wrote my Aimcat this morning
Found it extremely tough to hold on for 2.5 hrs early morning. Speed suffered big time I say
Anyways my scores:
QA - 15.67
VA - 15.67
DI - 14.67/16 (Depending on the answers for Qn no. 102)
OA - 46/47.33
Balance is fine. But I guess it's difficult to maximise when u have a race against time in a lengthy paper
Could have done far better in all the 3 secs. Paper was way too easy. As Adi said, TIME is getting way too stereotypical at the moment with hardly an surprises in the paper patterns

910 scores -
QA 16C, 1W, 15.67
Ver+RC 19C, 6W, 17
DI+LR 20C, 2W, 19.33
OA 52
Though moi scores look decent, i think its a lucky strike. Struggled with some quant concepts during the mock. | | | | | The Following 8 Users Say Thank You to GrimMan For This Useful Post: | | | | | |

Posting the scores alone makes it look like a mock cat repository. Puys, share your strategy also. esp.. ppl who are scoring well in mocks. it will be mighty helpful for guys like me.
Here goes my story for 0910:
Started off with VA. My aim was to maximise my attempts as my accuracy in VA has always been miserable. Attempted fourth and fifth passage. Then moved on to other VA questions. Didnt read even a single para-jumble question. (i got 3/4 right when i attempted it at home. ) Then did the third passage.
VA - 50 mins, 28-30 questions, 55% accuray.
Quants next. Having grown so comfortable with 25 questions, i felt a sense of uneasiness in taking 50 question quant section. Was confused whether to read the questions in a sequential manner or not. Decided to look out for easy ones and solve them instead of reading all the questions. Whatever questions I found doable, i attempted. Dint read any questions that were more than 2 lines in lenght.
QA - 50 mins, 18 attempts, 9 correct (4 bloody silly mistakes... i found that 2^5 >37. )
DI next. Did all the LR questions first. Then did route wala set and Travel set. Then DS. Was very confident that I would have 100% accuracy. That was not to be. I misread 3 questions, did calculation mistakes in 3 more.
DI- 40 min, 24 attempts, 18 correct. Decided to spend the last ten mins in quants as I was confident of clearing the di cut-off.
Did 3 more question in quants. All of them correct.
Puys, your suggestions are most welcome. Please do share if you think anything is wrong in this approach. Do share your strategy as well.
@Strategy coach: I'm expecting your review on this. :P

I guess the best way to deal with this paper was a strategy of 45-45-45-15 mins thingy. Last 15 mins was definitely to maximise ur scores.
I did the same here. But failed to maximise. VERBAL:
Started with VA first. Did most of the verbal ability questions which were in chunks this time. I'm pretty weak at these VA qns so I thought I would try to get at least 60% accuracy here. And actually got 60%
The parajumbles were way too simple. Attempted 5/8 and got all 5 right there.
Fill ups I thought were simple but actually ended up getting all 4 wrong there. The ones that complete the paragraph were again doable.
The ones on summaries were pretty doable again. TIME says they were of moderate difficulty. I agree. But it was somehow very easy spotting the wrong choices cuz of their glaring disagreement with the main passage. Attempted 2 there and got them right. Other 2 were quite difficult for me to comprehend.
Ah.. RCs.. I have started loving them. Attempted 10 RC questions (2 sets) and got all 10 right I think the best way to approach RCs is to read them as articles and not as RCs. Don't bother about what the qns are gonna be like until u finish the passages
A decent Verbal Ability section for me. Should have attempted another RC and could have maximised here. The key is here. RCs are the succor for the ones who are weak at VA. QUANTS:
I thought I would attempt DI second but found quants to be way too tempting. SO changed plans and went over to QA thinking that I would give some 40 odd mins and maximise in DI in the rest of the match
Was reading questions randomly and solving whatever I could. Speed at this point was suffering. 20 mins to quants and I could solve only 8-9 qns. Then had to change gears and read qns more carefully and solve them. next 25 mins went about solving some 8 more qns. Though my speed was low, I had a good hitlist because I was doubly sure of my answers while marking them. Made sure of the fact that y this option was right and others wrong. Attempted 17 qns in quants, got 16 right. An attempt of 21-22 was mighty possible. DI: Well this section has started to give me shudders. Went about solving this section from the end. Found some silly sets to do. But made some grave mistakes of overlooking the subtlety of those analogy type qns. Then went about solving those calculation based qns which I'm generally good at. Got a few mistakes here and there. All-in-all this section wasn't a great outing though I scored the most in this section. I need to work on DI a lot.
Found 5-7 mins to skip over to any section of my choice in the end. Looked for a few quant probs but couldn't solve many. Went back to DI to solve a few qns of the sets that I had attempted. And solved some 2 probs.
This is how my outing stands at the end of the day
Nishant
PS: Balaji.. Thanks for posting ur strategy

Spot the correct sentences and correct the wrong ones: (I have a few doubts which we would discuss after the answers u guys post). This has been lifted straight from the last simcat. So the ones who had given the simcat can stay away from posting answers for now and later participate in the discussion.
Sentence correction:
1. A few times in history, a human mind produces an observation as acute and unexpected
2. that people can't quite decide which is the more amazing - the fact or the thinking of it.
3. Principia was one of those moments.
4. It made Newton instant famous.
5. For the rest of his life he would be draped with plaudits and honours.

I wanna post another question. Not editing the earlier post cuz it's been long since i made that post. Guys may miss it..
Again guys who wrote simcat can stay away from posting the answers and kindly participate in the discussions if u have doubts: Choose the option that correctly captures the essence of the text.
Of all aids that grant a person a good night’s sleep, the pillow should rank second-next only to a clear conscience. Pillows, like human heads, gain importance because of the quality of stuffing inside. Some have feathers, some synthetic foam, some even bundles of currencies of the highest denomination, and some mere air. A few irate ladies throw rolling pins at their husbands for forgetting trivial things like wedding anniversaries. Nevertheless, many husbands escape unhurt because though the lady’s intention may be bad, her aim may be worse. I think marriage counsellors should prescribe the non-violent pillow as a marital weapon in the wives’ arsenal in addition to the watery brahmastra from their eyes.
1. The pillow has many uses. It helps in sleep, and marriage counsellors prescribed the non-violent pillow to the wives to use it as marital weapon against their errant husbands. The inside of the pillow determines its importance.
2. Both a pillow and a clear conscience are important in getting a good night's sleep. The quality of a pillow depends on its stuffing. The pillow, along with tears, should be prescribed as a weapon for wives to use against their husbands.
3. A good pillow, which depends on the kind of stuffing inside, grants a good night's sleep. The non-violent pillow, as marriage counsellors should advise wives, should be used against forgetful husbands, along with tears.
4. Pillows help a person sleep better anything else. A good pillow depends on the quality of the stuffing in it. Marriage counsellors should prescribe to wives the non-violent pillow as a weapon against their husbands.
Ok.. Finding the right answer is fine. But also post why are other options wrong. That would make some serious sense

1. A few times in history, a human mind produces an observation as acute and unexpected (as something else)
2. that people can't quite decide which is the more amazing of the two - the fact or the thinking of it.
3. Principia was one of those moments.
4. It made Newton instant ly famous.
5. For the rest of his life , he would be draped with plaudits and honours.
