Re: [PG Premier League-Bangalore Team]Heroes of the IIMB soil - 17-08-2008, 03:23 PM

As a supporter of BANGLORE TEAM ......
Great Going Guys........

My take on today's simcat pathetic .......

easy SIMCAT from the kitty of IMS dont know waht they are trying to prove with such easy paers
I guess everybody would have cracked this big time except me......

My scores:::

OA-69

VA-17
QA-22
DI-30

A OK type score when i calculated but on seeing this thread i think i might fall into the categories of 95 again

Commmited few errors in QA and No comments on VA.. I think the accuracy is the key in the paper liek this as the questions are too few to attempt.....

Ithink i will clear the QA cutoff just on the margin and DI cutoff easily and VA cutoff is not cleared in any case.....

Have to add these three magic letters to my name and that too this year.

In a hurry so will posts the details later. Here are my scores:

DI - 18 R; 2 W = 70
QA - 19 R; 2 W = 74
VA - 12 R; 10W = 38 which is better than my consistently below 50% accuracy in this section. But I guess there is a lot of scope for further improvement in this section

Overall : 49 R 14 W = 182

We must overcome the notion that we must be regular... It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary and leads you to the mediocre.

Re: [PG Premier League-Bangalore Team]Heroes of the IIMB soil - 17-08-2008, 03:50 PM

Another mediocre performance from me...

Was very slow through the paper.... Took ages to work through DI..something that is extremely rare....

My scores:

DI: 8C 3W: 29
QA: 8C 2W: 30
VA: 13C 7W:45

Total: 29C 12W:104 marks

Should have attempted atleast 10 more Questions...
Hope to clear all cut-offs though....

I feel a score of 135+ should fetch 3-4 calls...

Expect to land in the 97%ile territory....

Cheers,
Shabad

@Omeo.. awesome score dude... what did u drink this morning... horlicks!! crazy score man... topper on PG for sure.. congos

Back after a breather (didnt write last 3 mocks, sorry about that)

QA 46
Di 38
VA 70
overall 154

inflated verbal scores mean nothing

Had locked the source of softer woe,
And burning pride and high disdain
Forbade the rising tear to flow”

@Omeo316 and @Retribeaushun

Guys please share the process which u follow to attcak the paper as i guess at this stage it is the most important thing..

like wether u people attempt strongest section first or weakest first ..
(I doubt whether any section is weak for these people)

Please share your approach any help would be highly appreciated

Re: [PG Premier League-Bangalore Team]Heroes of the IIMB soil - 17-08-2008, 07:35 PM

A good mock for me after all....

DI/LR ---- 9 attempts 7 correct 2 wrong ---- 26
QA ---- 10 attempts 9 correct 1 wrong ---- 35
VA ---- 20 attempts 15 correct 5 wrong / 16 correct 4 wrong ---- 55/60 (There is a slight doubt for me here because I have found one answer correctly but I don/t know if I have marked it correct in the OMR........I have marked it wrong in the question paper though......but there is still some hope of me marking it correct in the OMR....)

OA ---- 116/121

cheers.....

Not sure about the others. But I like to attack my strongest section first which happens to be QA and along with VA it's the section in which questions can be answered independently of others (unlike in DI where questions come in sets). SO I always advice people to start with QA or VA which ever is more comfortable for them. This helps in building in a bit of confidence and shed some of that fear.
On the other hand if you attempt DI in the beginning and aren't able to solve the first 2 sets that you take and you end up wasting a lot of time and also the pressure starts mounting and you are prone to make a lot of silly mistakes that you wouldn't do otherwise.
