IMS SIMCAT-2 discussion

Hi puys,

I just finished analysing my answers with given answers. I have doubts in following questions:

Q36]
I have marked it as option 4. The explanation from IMS states option 4 does not include everything and does not talk about classically-inspired torso. But option 1 also does not talk about it. i mean idealized torso does not necessarily mean classically inspired torso.

Q40]

I have marked option 2 as an option though i had come down to 1 & 2.
Option 1 does not talk about trade at all. and in option 2 200 BC to AD 220 is not mentioned but durability is mentioned.
Please explain me how to decide between the answers in such cases.

I think all the options were very close and it was a nice paper setting ionce again by IMS...

Well!! I also had marked (3) first but then I read it again and I noticed a catch.

In (3) it read carefully the 2nd line and think. It is written that it is better to rely on one's instinct while sizing up for the first time. In the passage, it has been mentioned that it is always wiser to rely on first impression which is quite different from relying on instincts while sizing up for the first time. Think about it. Both of them are quite different things

The ims site is showing up link for simcat 2 result, but the link isn't working now. If anyone can access the scores plz post it here along with the cutoffs . Will be a great help for everybody

Cud access my scores.... no percentile or cut-offs have been given....jus da scores have been put up....got da same as calculated by da answer key.... thou wish dey wer more..!!!

No such treatment to the other 3 sculptures.

Yeah true! But that in no way shows author's preference or his liking of that particular piece of work. It might be true but then that will be an assumption and a huge one at that.

About Q36:

I guess this is a real tricky one. All the options were really close. I marked (1) as in the passage it is no where mentioned that Donatello's David is weak though it is mentioned that his arms appear weak due to lack of muscles. Only option (1) had this appearing weak thing. All the other options talked about him being weak.

I know this isnt conclusive but ....

About Q40

Durability was a hallmark of Han dynasty and not the thing for which it is famous for. Also in option (2), Roman Empire being a contemporary is not mentioned.
The real close question is (5). But that missed the durability thing. Hence (1) is the most correct option
