Exclamation Eligibility Query - 15-06-2008, 05:02 PM

Hi,
This is my first post...
I have just finished my Class XII and i want to prepare For CAT.
I have taken up B.A. Journalism(3 Years) in Madras Christian College(Chennai)...and I want to know whether I'll be eligible to get into top institutes like IIM with a B.A.
Also which institutes offer the best training for CAT in Chennai?? I am also keen to know about how to prepare for the next three years(I figure i will have quite a lot of free time). Please enlighten me on which course I should opt for viz. long term or short term.

Thanks.

Hey,

You can try for any B-School with any graduate degree (with the exception of the IITs) provided you do it from a university recognised by the guidelines of CAT.

Welcome to PG...

Its good to know you have a long term focus but at the same time its important not to deviate from your immediate goals i.e. to do your BA well and get the imporatant learnings out of the course be it in the form of academics, sports or any other extra curriular activities.

IIMs dont have problems with an aspirants background but then you be able to justify in the interview how did u decide to do MBA with the facts.

Also, CAT doesnt require so 3 years of preparation. My advice to you is do do your BA well, kip improving you vocabalary, get into some extra cuuriculars so that you can build your resume and next year or in final year you can join CAT coaching classes.

All the best.
