Some guidance for a medical student please !!! - 31-05-2008, 01:11 AM

I am a final year student of M. Sc. (hons) Microbiology. All along I wanted to be a wonderful scientist. But after doing badly in studies(exams to be precise) all these years, my interest in my field slowly diminished.
After some time, I started looking at other options, and at this stage, an MBA seems like a good option. When I talked to some of my friends they suggested that management field may suit me fine considering my general outlook. I have always been good at speaking( debates and all), reading and generally organize all kind of functions in my dept.
But obviously these qualities don't mean I will be successful in this field.

My course is a 5 year course with peanuts for salaries when you finally get a job ( tops at 20k a month if you are really lucky). So that's a big turnoff. But again that would be running away from something and not actually running TOWARDS something. Even all my seniors who are in jobs advice that I should do an MBA. Things are not too good for microbiologists.
So keeping all these things in mind I decided to start preparing for CAT 2008.
So, right now I am totally blank about CAT. Where should I start from? What should I study? I don't have a clue as yet.
I am lucky to have found this forum just while starting my prep and hope everyone here will help me.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I am from Chandigarh. Any body from CHD here?

Thanks you sir. Introduced myself on the introduction thread. This is a huge forum, just got a little overwhelmed by it's size( this is the excuse:lookroun Actually I was also hoping for some personalized counseling too since I know many other members may have been in the same boat as I am right now.
This is just an awesome place.
