Vivek, you are undoubtedly doing very well in your Mocks. But, your low VA score in previous CAT and unability to clear cut-offs in VA section in a few Mocks, can be the dampener on D-day.

A suggestion for all, who are in a similar situation - Low RCVA,

Do go through Critical Resoning (CR), Reading Comprehension (RC) and Sentence Correction (SC) sections of GMAT Official Guide (10th or 11th edition) and also refer Manhattan SC. It will sharpen your verbal reasoning skills, which are increasingly being emphasised upon in CAT. Give 2 weeks to the above mentioned material. I strongly believe that these resources will certainly help increase your accuracy and consistency in RCVA section.

Wanted to know, what is a good strat on RC's. I mean, out of the generally 5 questions, how many can be considered as a good enough attempt. What my problem is - I generally attempt all 5(sm guesswork is invlved there) and end of screwing it up with accuracy = 40%. :(

Any suggestions - Like Manhattan SC, is there any Manhattan RC or some similar stuff?

Hie TIA,

Fact: Reading an RC takes more time than attempting any question that follows.

I am a strong advocate of reading an RC throughly before attempting the question. And, if I have spent time reading the RC, I would prefer to answer as many questions I can answer from those that follow that RC. In any case, if I find any particular question elusive and decide to skip it, then it is a different case.

You are possible going wrong in not reading the RC thoroughly, hence committing mistakes by attempting the question on guess-work. Guess-work, more often than not, doesn't work.

Manhattan RC: I am sure they have package for RC on their website, which can be purchased for around $25. But, Mahattan is generally highly recommended for SC to GMAT takers.
