guys ... firstly , i don't think we cn change the way IIMs select candidates...secondly with almost 3 lakh students expected to appear this year..i really feel at least 15-20 k students are capable of getting calls on the final day..from my observation people who consistently score more than 99.5+ in mocks (be it time, ims , cl) are more often than not the ones who excel in cat..by exceling in CAT i mean scoring on the same lines as CAT...rest, only my personal opinion though...from 96-99 % lers in mocks ...have an even chance..there are exceptions though and that is always there...now coming to the point of luck factor...that is involved in every sphere of life...and nothing much can be done about it...conducting three tests over 3 weekends(as some one suggested)..well the IIMs have a tough time conducting CAT once in a year so 3 CATs looks an impossibility...even i agree that some capable people are unable to make it but lets not forget those who make it are also talented and capable...the only solution is the increase in seats, new IIMs ..because with the increase in the population, that looks like the only solution to me...also i agree that it is a 2.5 hour game and all depends on the final day...but believe me it is those who can survive that pressure who get thru and that i think is the biggest test..some do it in 1 go...others learn over a period of time with their CAT experiences..but whatever happens it is a beautiful experience...i could never rectify my mistakes though but learnt a lot thru this exam.....just my personal opininon..please do not groan....all the best to all...cheers..
