Hi dont know the specific case of Delhi...but Ims gives Simcats as take away material in case you are unable to take the tests(I have been working as a part-time faculty at IMS for almost 2 years ,and this is wat is being done at least in this part of the world.) It would depend on the centre manager and i dont think anyone will have a problem giving the material to you.:-)

If there are going to be 16 SimCats from this year on, then people will have to chose between IMS and Time.. it will be a big blow for all people who were planing to take both the tests ...
IMS' logic in the previous years were u don need so much of all india tests inorder to tackle cat,(8 was more than enough they used to say)also u dont need to complete or peak your performance so early(by mid-may).Seems they have made changes in their strategy. Now it will be difficult to join for both tests.

The best thing seems to be to join one of IMS or Time, and then to get some of the tests of other(along with CL or CF) from your friends and do it at home.

Another advantage with the CL test series is that one can upload the answers of the take-home tests which will give you a detailed analysis and percentile with cut-off. This also helps because normally take-home tests are just poor follow-ups.

P.S.: Normal disclaimers apply. All this is my opinion based on personal experience.

TIME series is one of best coz lot of junta take it.So it gets closer to CAT level competition.
CL is also good, but lacks back in number of test takers only.

Hi,

I have taken both TIME and IMS. I wud rate TIME a notch higher than IMS . It is being told that TIME DI is very tough but it actually helps at the end and hone your skills and prepares you for the worst. Yes,Quant is sometimes really tough and seems impracticle. Verbal is more or less same for TIME and IMS.And since the CAT pattern is gradually moving towards GMAT, all coaching instis will move to the same startegy i.e. more of anlytical passages and same for verbal part. But at the ned of the day its ones take that which one suits him/her the best.

Cheers!!

yeah,
it is entirely individualistic to choose a test series. however, i recommend IMS test series because it is just right for CAT level of difficulty- neither below par nor above par but just at par!

As per my experience goes:-

TIME:- People who took TIME AIMCATS before beware as they repeat lots of questions from previous years aimcats. If one has taken time beofre then take ims and vice-versa.

QA- more stress on numbers; less arithemetiic questions.Level is goog.
DI-very high level.Far above CAT level.if u score 15/100 then u fetch qround 90%(guess now).I lost my confidence in this section because of so tough sets.
VA-below CAT level.
No surprise factor at all.

CL-

QA- too tough.Olypiad level.
DI-very well above CAT
VA-below CAT

IMS- never took.but what i heard from my frineds is it is closest to cats.section are of moderate difficuty level.u won;t loose much of ur confidence which is the key.
Surprise factor is better than time.

Please donot over burden urself by taking lots of mocks. That proved a nemesis for me.
Take one mock test seriously and then if possible try to arrange the mock papers of any one institute and u can do that at home.
Mocks are just to help you ti startegise ur preparation. Please donot change ur preparatin stategy by seeing ur mock scores.
I used to get 95+ in mocks and in actauly CAT i landed at 94 and some of my frineds who used to secure 70-80 in mocks landed at 99.
So donot stess too much on mocks. They are very imporatnt but something that can't guarntee u a seat in IIMs.

i would again stress here that there are some reasons why time papers become impractical.
first of all no shock or surprise element in pattern,marking,questions...as such the ppr is of a similar kind always and many ppl tend to start taking mock tests with a very rigid startegy...the first thing that cat makes a mess of is a rigid strategy

di level has been consistently quite easy in cat, while with aimcats the contrary is true.ims has a very good level of di...just the kind needed for cat.

and as far as va is concerned i found it the best.it was very very close to the way cat ppr was prepared this year.
cat is a lot beyond solving difficult questions.thats why time becomes an impractical choice, even though the questions in time pprs r thougher.

i absolutely support u in this point.

I took time series for 2 Years.Questions DO get repeated and that too with same answer options and orders.

After scoring in those questions u dont get feel good factor.Thats personal opinion.
