WL has always been there. They never used to disclose it. The WL candinates were contacted directly. I have some unconfirmed information that in IIM C, the WL movement is till ard WL 25 usually.

From the news
"While most of the IIMs had interviewed sufficient number of OBC candidates around February, the Supreme Court ruling about not including the ‘creamy layer' has meant that admission for OBC candidates is still ‘provisional'. OBC students who have made the cut to the final admission list will now have to produce a certificate confirming their OBC status by May 19.
IIM-Calcutta, which has an intake of 318 is taking up 3 per cent OBC expansion in the first year which translates into nine seats. The institute had interviewed OBC candidates in February but some of them have been absorbed into the general category. The institute will conduct a fresh round of interviews for non-creamy layer OBC students on May 15."
So my expectation is that they have wait-listed as many people as the number of seats in the category. Just in case even if all people failed to produce their certificate their admission process does'nt go for a toss.

As of now the info which looks most accurate is that there are 318 seats (about 250 for PGDM) and that no of waitlisted ppl is 60-65. All now depends upon how many buffer calls they have given and what your waitlist no is.

The poll is not covering all the options.
There should be something like
* Selected for PGDM and PGDCM, joining PGDM
* Selected for PGDM and PGDCM, joining PGCDM
That would show the picture better. So pl change it if you can.

I'm afraid I can't change now. is there anybody joining PGDCM when he's got PGDM as well?

i wonder shaurya1985 how could u be sure of 150 drop outs of iimc list.. last year to the best of my knowledge arnd 4 guys only were contacted via telephone from IIMC. u may check the orkut grp for 2007-09 batch. the waitlisting picture is not that rosy.
it's a request to u, the hopefuls, not to guess any number, rather patiently wait for poll results or real nos. and IIMC has a history of not filling seats if that's not filled up. In 2007-09 batch we are just 289...
there are many as of my personal knowledge who are choosing C over others.. I request them to mention their preferences in this thread as well for common good..

well 4 is awkward...if they are not interested in waitlisted candinates then why even call 4 people....anyways they hav declared waitlist this time (a long one) so logically thr has to be a gud assumption behind it
Personally I hav made up my mind to join L so dont really care...ATB to all of u []
