Some more update on choice of campus... its actaully being done so that MDI can avoid flooding one campus with all the students... we had this last time as well... they can put an upper limit on d number of students choosing a particular campus... but it wont b tht u cant excercise ur choice at all...
i hope u understand guys...

Hey Sid! Well actually this was mentioned in the specimen letter sent to us.

Apart from this, i asked this from the person sitting in Room No. 4(Mr. S.C. Guha)written on the board.

Thanx!

because I want to learn french...
no seriously I want to learn french infact am already started... and if I'm sent to london it wud not be so well practised and hence effectively lost...

so please give us some assurance dat in special cicumstances we can get campus of choice...
maybe i can give an interview in french if they insist....

Hi Ashwani,
Though there was an upper limit for Paris(14) but finally it was our choice. Furthermore it was easy for college since exactly 14 opted for Paris campus.
But even if college has to decide on the selection of campus then French will be the deciding factor. So don't worry and keep on learning French.
i would also recommend that ppl who want to go for a career in Finance should enroll for CFA. In Paris you will have enough time to prepare for CFA and if u clear it then internship/job will be a cakewalk.

ok well I did some research on CFA..
definitely interesting...

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is an international professional designation offered by the CFA Institute of USA (formerly known as AIMR) to financial analysts who complete a series of three examinations. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree (or equivalent), be in the final year of their bachelor's degree program, or have at least four years of qualified, professional work experience in order to take the exams. In order to become a "CFA Charterholder" candidates must pass all three exams, agree to comply with the code of ethics, pay member dues, and have four years of work experience deemed acceptable by the CFA Institute.

The CFA designation is a qualification for finance and investment professionals, particularly in the fields of investment management, investment banking and financial analysis of stocks, bonds and their derivative assets. The program focuses on portfolio management and financial analysis, and provides a general knowledge of other areas of finance.

for full article apna puranna... Chartered Financial Analyst - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Candidates generally take one exam per year over three years and are written at a postgraduate level for financial professionals. Fees for the June 2008 exams range from $600 to $930, depending on the date at which the candidate registers to take the exam. Exams are challenging, with only 40% passing the Level I and II exams and 50% passing Level III in June 2007 (39% for Level I in December 2007). In 2006, Europe achieved the highest average pass rate for the Level I, II and III of the exam with an overall success rate of 57% of candidates; versus 54% for the USA and 49% in Asia and Pacific Asia.

I am really going to find wot this CFA is all about and how good can it prove....

waise the article says ppl clear one level each year...
so by that measure it will take us 2-3 years to be fully done...
no chance dat by the time we appear for interns we will be level III....
so is level 1 and 2 worth showing in d interviews???

Hi Ashwani,
Level 1 and II are also good enough to appear on ur CV and give u an edge over your European counterparts who are not good with numbers. Try and talk to ppl who have done CFA, on relevant orkut and facebook communities, to have more info.

Keep rocking

40 - 50 percent passing the exam and dey call it challenging???
very recently I appeared for a exam in which top 2 percent are considered worth the next stage... (saada CAT)...

anyways jokes apart...

Hi Puys,

Yesterday had a word with Prof.Rohit Prasad regarding the course commencement date of the incoming PGPIM batch. Things are not certain as yet ... but in all likelihood the course might commence with PGPM n HR i.e. 16th June onwards.

He also said that final word on this expected some time this weekend or next monday.

Regards,
Ram
