Why?This question is still haunting me. I am not able to find the answer for this question. | Dude, I'm really surprised seeing this interview experience. Even I have 99.85 percentile, and the interview went ahead for me in a perfectly normal manner, like with other candidates. They hardly discussed my CAT percentile, grilled me a bit on my profile, then the sub prime crisis and stuff. Finally, I see a convert. I think it might depend on the individual professor, or maybe because you rescheduled, they thought that you are not very serious about MDI. But your being serious or not shouldn't be of consequence to the selection process. Anyways, I'm sure great things lie ahead of you. All the best There is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it...

I think a few members here mentioned that an upward revision in the fees is the most plausible reason why the specimen letter was taken off their website. I had no idea about the revised rate of 7.83 lakhs, and thank you for clearing that up.
My main concern was also the deadline, and a member has been kind to post the letter here.

I was one of persons who had asked for the resheduling of GD/PI. | Well, strange, really strange, the only thing I can think of is may be because of rescheduling, they thought u are not serious enough, may be, only a guess. Anyways, u do have NITIE convert, and IIM calls, ATB Quote:

i also agree...
i had a rocking GD-PI...
MDI being my only call i worked double hard for the thing and i seriuosly had a great feeling after the process was over only to see myself being waitlisted at #583...
But then i think the speculations goin on will not hold tru this year as - seats in MDI have been doubled.
- ppl with great CAT percentiles have got confirmed calls from MDI which they may leave for IIMs
- small but possible influence of iim-s
but i would say optimism is the only thing left for a waitlister like me!!!!

first, have a look at the last page of the pgpm brochure: http://www.mdi.ac.in/images/pdf/admi...chure.pdf?id=6
Look at the payment schedule, and there is an asterisk over the first installment, with the corresponding fine print saying "Includes 10000/- towards security deposit". So, the first installment of 115000 was including the security deposit.
Now, read the specimen letter, which says we have to deposit 125,000 as first installment which includes the Rs.10,000 security deposit. So, I think the guy who prepared the letter forgot that the 115,000 already included the security deposit, added 10k to it, and uploaded the letter asking 125,000 as first installment. This also explains why the MDI site was blocked just after publishing the results, and the letter was taken down. Hence, according to me, the new letter shouldn't announce any fee hike, but a 10 grand lower first installment
p.s. As expected, the usual disclaimer of this being my personal opinion applies | Friends,
Spoke to someone from the admission department in the morning. And the latest update is that there was a board meeting scheduled last week so they removed the specimen letter as few things may/may not change in the specimen letter as a result of that meeting.
The update will be posted on MDI website soon.
As for the transfer of fees paid for say PGHR to PGPM after u clear your waitlist has been brought to the admissions offices notice. Will speak to admission chairperson in the evening and post updates if any.
Regarding the 10000/- ka goof up you are talking about .. I guess thats not a goof up the 10000/- must have been as a facility development fee levied this year rather than the security deposit. Any case wait for the fresh specimen letter to be uploaded on the site.
Also note that letters have not been posted yet. They will be once few nitty gritties are worked out.
Njoi!

Thanks alot PUYS for different insights. The only probable answer at this time is "May be they did not like my idea of resheduling my GD/PI and tghaught that i am not serious enough for my MDI call."
Anyways, the bottom line is that I did not convert the call so no point cribbing here and there. And I seriously wish that I can convert one of these 5 calls so that I CAN REST IN PEACE.
Once again:Thanks alot puys for ur feedback and wishing each one of u ALL THE VERY BEST FOR FUTURE Cheers....!! Ujjwal

My main concern was also the deadline, and a member has been kind to post the letter here. | I believe the specimen letter was removed to decide the last date of payment and delay the process a bit more.. as IIMs have not yet decided when would they come up with the result..and Mdi would be trying to avoid the process of paying back the fee which is of course tedious one. Its just a possiblity.. hope no fee hike | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
