HI all..

I have tried...but cudnt modify the options so as to select multiple choices!!!!!

I was just too excited to create a poll about "joining IMI" that I missed it out!!

Nikhil, does the IMI campus have an in-campus bank ? If so, which one ?

Also, I would be really grateful if you could tell me the nearest SBI in the vicinity of the college/hostel. I am thinking along the lines of transferring my SBI account instead of closing it.

Got this info from Orkut IMI community:

"Indian Bank and State bank of India.. Both within 2 kms of the college...
Indian bank is the closest though, just on the main road..thats like 2 minutes from college"

I decided to withdraw the amount from the PF account.If u hav worked for less than 5 years the interest amount on PF is taxable.I would suggest to withdraw it

We don't have an In campus bank. The nearest branch of SBI is at IIT Delhi I believe.

Hi,

I will also be withdrawing the amount. Even if u dont want to close it, we can use the same account for next job. Just note the account number and talk to the concerned HR people

ps: PF amount ( 2 year workex ~ 20000 ) maynot be a big deal in 2010 once we get our dream jobs But it is indeed a big deal for person staying in a hostel for 2 years

I've also decided to withdraw it..... You have to fill two forms: 10C and 19 and get it sealed and signed at your office and they'll send it to the PF department. You'll get the amount through cheque in a couple of months at your residential address (or whichever one you mention in the form)

Another alternative is to let it remain right now and when you take up a job after a couple of years, you can get your PF account transferred. But then again, I think it's better to withdraw now and open another account later.

PS: I haven't got the cheque as of now, in fact have just applied a couple of days back.... So the information regarding the payment etc is as told by my company's HR department. However, info regarding the forms to fill is correct....
