Thanks Ven_Cat, actually no one seems to be sure about the new TAPMI campus and related querries. But as conveyed in the interview, all this fee hike etc is bcoz of TAPMI shifting to new campus. So this has all the potential of a mystry story:dontgeti:

The envelope contains:
1) DD (50000/-)
2) Filled in iniitial acceptance letter (annexure -6) to "T.A. Pai Management Institue, Manipal (Udupi)"

Yes you have got it right.
And instead of posting it, use courier (preferably Blue Dart). Don't depend on the post for important documents.
Take a photocopy of your DD to keep with you for your reference.

Just called Mrs.Jyothi Nayak at the admissions office and confirmed that they have received my DD+initial acceptance letter.

Mrs.Nayak informed me that TAPMI will not be providing a receipt for the initial payment of 50K. But, will do so only after receiving the second installment of 2,06,000/-. She also said that the receipt for the fees paid might only be provided on the day of Joining the college...i.e. 5th July.

Seniors, why don't you tell us something about yourself. Where are you doing your internship..? Any exciting events in the recent past within/off campus? Any profs that we should be on the lookout for? Most interesting/boring subjects...

I think the tapmi community on orkut is more alive... Unfortunately i don't have access to orkut from office!

ahh..tat shd b a nice break :happy: well both me and gitesh are doing our summers@sify in chennai...as far as the other info goes i aint gonna tell u nething and spoil the fun :P u can check out the TAPMI website and look for a link called "update"..u'll find a number of activities which go arnd the entire year...the link needs 2 b updated but still u shall have a fair idea nevertheless...as far as the profs are concerned, they surf PG too so ssshhhhh....v'll give u enough "gyaan" once u ppl get 2 the coll..dont worry..u shall get sick n tired of it cheers!!!!

I sent the DD across on Tuesday morning (15th) from Trivandrum. Used Blue Dart couriers for sending it.

I was just inquiring about education loan. Below is the details i got from SBI:
For first 4 lakhs - interest rate 12.25
For above 4 laksh - interest rate 13.25

is any other bank better than this? Also, they wanted a proof that TAPMI is AICTE approved but didn't find anything on their site.

Also, is it better to take loan from banks who have tie up with TAPMI? (Why)

One more thing guys. Any loan availed more than 4 lacs requires surity. So it is better to avail no more than 4 lacs. Try to put in as much possible from ur side.
