TAPMI follows a "6 working days a week" schedule and you get a total of 2 weeks vacation in the first year. One week vacation in end October & the other one in end February. Hi Gitesh/Seniors

I have a few queries, can you please answer them?

1. What r the plans of shifting to the new campus. I heard from one of ur batchmates that the '07-'09 batch was also told about shifting to new campus in their councelling.

2. How many people were recruited by Lehmann Bros, Morgan S, KPMG, ICRA together? What was the average package, median, max, min for the fin dept?

3. Did Lehman Bros and JP actually come to the campus for recruitment?

4. Also, if possible, can we get a list of all the companies which came for recruitment? I feel the Tapmi should've displayed that on their website like most other top colleges have done.

Please answers all these queries. I have been trying to get hold of seniors for these but no one answers. As you might understand, I am a bit skeptical about coming to Tapmi just because of one reason, it is quite cut-off from major metros, and so I wish to have the actual list of recruiters before I make my final decision.

Hello Gitesh.

I was wondering whether TAPMI is particular about laptops with a 15.4 inch screen or they are fine with the ones with smaller screens also. The details of the same are not mentioned in the letter. Would appreciate if you could throw some light on this.

180? I read earlier that it was 120... for this year! A lot of information is blurred... It'll really help all students if the site is more up to date... How do we get our specialization? When do we have to choose what we want to do?

When colleges say high speed internet connectivity, can we access sites through which we can chat with parents/friends (using webcams)?

I am completely in the dark about how these things work...

If TAPMI is just the facilitator, then we are better off buying the laptops on our own so that we get the configuration of our choice.

I also got the letter.Regarding the laptops,laptop is not included in course fees but TAPMI will help students to get bulk deals for laptops for which there is a laptop procurement request form which has been sent withthe final call letter.one has to fill it & send it Tapmi.

Guys We have to report on 4th of july evening on the same place where we had given the interviews & They will direct us then to the hostels.

Induction programme is on 5th & 6th.Regular classes from 7th.

Please see as I went through the letter I didnt find anything about the new campus so I doubt wheter they will be starting the new campus this year.

Hey I did not find anything about the certificates in the letter.Along with the 50K we are supposed to send Initial Acceptance letter.nothing has been mentioned about sending of any certificates along with the 50K DD.

On one of the pages they have mentioned "Your admission to the PGDM programme 2008-10 is subjected to submission & verification of all relevent orogianl records of your graduate study".I think only here we need to show certificates & marksheets & I think this process will take place later & not now.Seniors please confirm.

So just want to rephrase of what grasp from all the post:

Before 25th April TAPMI should get a DD of 50k, preferably should be sent by DTDC, Blue Dart, etc
No need of any other documents or certificates, right? (Please post the list of certis/docs if I am wrong)
Can someone post to whom the DD should be addressed.

DD should be drawn in favour of "T.A. Pai Management Institute" Payable at Manipal or Udupi.

Hello,

I also haven`t got the letter.

So just to summarize, we need to send a DD of 50 K drawn in favour of T.A.PAI before 25th April. Regarding the laptop, I think we have to fill in the form that we receive (If and when I recieve) and the details of Joining on 4th July.

Also is there any other information on the letter that I have missed.


Just to inform you guys regarding one thing about new campus, I went to see the new campus during the GD/PI and after seeing the site I am sure we won`t be moving there for atleast till the end of 2008.
We also spoke to the person who was supervising the construction and he said that it will take atleast 6 months for any building to be usuable. Few buildings were half completed and for few buildings the base was just laid. So I guess what he said is correct.

So guys be prepared to spend atleast 6 months in old campus and 6 -12 months in new campus which will be under construction (If we move there).

I found thread on Life @ <b-school> of other colleges quiet desciptive, be it events, fests, parties. But that of TAPMI's doesn't have much. Is life so hectic @ TAPMI?
