Meanwhile, when are you considering as the last date for laptop purchase? It will be useful for me to come to a conclusion.

I agree with bigfish and that's why my indifference to this issue and preference to the portability issue.....

Can anybody who's worked on both finalise on the screen size for us, keeping in mind our necessity to carry it day-in and day-out, not to forget our 'Marine Drive' situated about 2 kms away from the campus.

As ya'al can make out that as of now, I prefer 1420 over 1525 coz of it's screen size.

So, guys it all boils down to 2 choices.....

Dell Inspiron 1420 ( smaller screen )

Dell Inspiron 1525 ( larger screen but heavier by min 500 gms..!!)

Both come under 40 k...so its not about price but entertainment/convenience....I am tilting towards 1525 as I am a movie buff...!!

Guys!!!
Here's is a sort of comparison sheet I've compiled between a deal which my friend recently got (a bulk deal) and she claimed that we can get the same deal and the deal offered by our candy-boy Sachin.
Please have a look and suggest if what we actually need in our notebook configuration coz the 'value difference' is Huge.
Please have a look and decide quickly...

I really do not approve of the deals mentioned by Thiru and Sachin as both mention the 1.83 GHz processors which are old one's and not used any longer by the new laptops..!!

Ankit, can you give details of the config ur buddy has got ??!!

To tell u the correct figures
1. backpack costs Rs.1450
2. accidental cover Rs.1000
3. integrated sound blaster not required actually hence u can subtract Rs. 450 from the price.

I hope we have almost come to conclusion abt the laptop.

mostly we wil finalize it by tomorrow.

The offer is running out of hand...make it fast my friends...

cheers
Sachin

dude dude....

in ur haste u over looked the config of the 36.3K deal....if u would c carefully it includes a laptop case worth 900...thus inorder to have aback pack u only need to pay 5oo extra to upgrade from a cse to backpack....900+500=1400
