hey guys,

One thing I noticed is that XPS is mainly for gaming freaks...otherwise performance wise it is as good as Inspiron series...considering our MBA needs, I feel we should fo for an Inspiron instead of XPS....also any opinion on Lattitude series ???

hey guys just got my account activated.
Neway i am also interested in the bulk deal but reading the previous posts iv seen that its just 4-5 ppl discussing abt the deal hence i feel its gonna be difficult to decide.Moreover the deals on the pg site have to be struck at the earliest ,in all probability before our college starts which means there wont be any wholesome participation in the decision. Is it possible for us to probably get to college and then deide a deal (though i know it would take some time to finally get the laptops at least we will have a major consensus regarding the models). Also once we get to college we would be in abetter position to know abt the service centres and stuff and also a chat with the seniors. As far as i know bulk deals are struck only after college starts (i maybe wrong).

As far as my preference goes the Inspiron 1420 seems to be a good buy. Though i still feel that with just 4-6 ppl discussing the laptop topic its not gonna turn out to be a bulk deal.

Hmm...there are 2 ways to look at this thing :

1. Wait for the college to start, but you never know how many are going to take it...last year, diff ppl opted for diff brands..so not much discount was give..!!

2. We, 6-10 ppl join these guys on PG and get ourselves a laptop, and then maybe as time passes, guide fellow BIMiites twds these dealers..

I am still waiting for KK's response, as he is currently looking into bulk laptop deal for us..!!!

But as per the dell web site, the latitude series is for large business and government centres!!!! So my initial thought is that we might not need such a powerful laptop.... but will do some more research on this....

Are we all decided on Dell laptops ??!!!

I was mentioning Latitude bcoz sony007 was offering a deal on latitude for some 38.25 k...have seen the website...but dont know much abt latitude series..

Any idea on Acer n HP ???

I think our seniors had mentioned in some previous posts that Acer has some problems with the LCD screen n stuff.... And even HP was not that great..... Not sure about what models they were talking about..... Heard ACER FERRARI is a gud notebook, but I guess its more suited to game addicts.....


Toshiba satellite series laptops are also cheap and gud... The one I have is a good one, except for battery life (arnd 1.5 -2 hrs).... Plus, not sure about service centres.....
