And if you can disclose approx pkg ranges..
(I understand giving pkg figures may not be feasible, but approx range)
2) Approx how many students got into those profiles from each stream (FT/Fin/IT)?
3) Leaving apart the best/ top shot placements, what are the general profiles and pkg range -- for each of the courses?
4) What is the prior experience duration for one to be eligible to sit in laterals?
5) If my experience is in IT, for what kind of roles/profiles it is considered as lateral entry? (As this experience may not be relevant for many profiles offered)
6) As heard from seniors, IMT has got a very good name in Marketing and most of the profiles offered are related to sales. In that case, profiles offered to FT students are widely justified. But, what are the profiles offered to financial stream guys? Are we getting core finance jobs (Other than Investment Banking/Treasury , as they are offered in select very few bschools)
7) Are there any people going for IT Consultancy?
(Other than Pre-sales, Project basis Business Analysts)
If yes, what are the companies recruiting them into such roles?
Hoping to get early response on this from Seniors...
Thanks a lot in advance...

@gareebguy
Dude, it's a matter of our careers. We need answers to our queries. If we make one mistake in our decision making, then we are doomed. I can understand your not willing to answer everything, but we can't leave important queries till we join. We need to be assured of a good salary once we graduate from there, isn't it? I have around 20 months of work-ex. And from what you say, I think I won't be eligible for laterals. That has saddened me a bit more. I have been selected for the Finance stream at IMT this year.
OK, just give me one assurance. I won't ask you everything. If I work hard and get a good GPA, and do all i can to improve myself throughout these 2 years, can I expect a salary figure of 11-12 laks when I graduate? Please just answer this. As you have been there, seen that and done that I believe you would be able to give me a good idea.

hey bro...
when u say important queries..wot u talkin bout , good profile or high package..
u"ll understand d difference once u join any b-school
anyways dont b disheartened bout havin 20 months..i said it was 22months for us it could be 20 months for your batch..it depends on the chairman of placements
also this is the cut off set by the college..however a lotta companies set d lateral cut off to be 12months + whereas some set it to be 24+ or 36+,depending on their requirement..
in d fin batch v hv firms from dubai, singapore offering finance profiles.
The major kpos offer arnd 9.5L to 13L
d indian firms like vodafone arnd 8.5L...
so depending on what profile u want d package is different
Certain companies offer very good profiles but the package would be arn 7L+....
So u r d best masters..work ur way up 2 d profile/package of ur liking
hope it answers ur query
P.S d packages mentioned r for our batch..so 2 yrs down d line going by the current trend and the Re appreciating things definitely should be on the rise
gracias

Thanks for the reply bro...
can you please tell us what all IT companies are offering Consulting roles in IMT G?? And when you say Senior Business Analyst/ Business Consultants, is it for projects or business development teams or both.. If you can briefly narrate the role, it will be great...
In all B Schools the role is called the same, but the actual profile they get varies.. from business development to functional consultant to onsite engagement roles in projects.. I may be sounding naive in asking such questions.. (abhi mba college ka experience nahin hai... ) But, MBA would be final degree for many of us.. so wanted to know a bit more before joining...
Thanks in advance...

Re: IMT Final Result 2008-10 -

Hi..
A query for seniors of IMT.
I have around 4 years of IT experience and have got pretty decent profile in terms of company, college and acads.
I have got through IMT-Finance course. Although I am interested in finance, but I am just a little skeptical about the kind of profile that I will be able to get after huge IT experience. I doubt that companies offering good finance profile might give preference to the people with experience in finance or people with no work ex. Can 4 years of IT exp work against getting a good finance profile at the end of two years at IMT? Will I be considered as a fresher because I have no fin related work ex?
Please throw some light on this!
thanks.

Hi...
if this can help in some way,
Last year i had a final rank of 982 for IMT.
Don't know if this was the waitlist number or overall merit number(i.e. including the top 360).. but i was eventually given a call on my mobile that I have been offered IMT Ghaziabad HR. I did not take that up. (HR was my 2nd pref. 1st being IT)
