Lot of Confusions..!!
Well the seniors including me have not been active because of our end term examinations..which have not really given us time to breathe...

For your queries..
1. Counselling even when 2nd list comes out is highly unlikely...but official word can not be obtained till tomorrow..today being Sunday..
2. Our seniors i.e. class of 2008 had received the results,just the way you all have..from their experience I can say that waitlisted means ranked beyond 360..lets not forget that in our batch ranks went upto 1200+ and so we see many people who have been shown "waitlisted"..pls do not muddle the same with "rejected"
3. Also when you have been waitlisted, its not on preference basis but you will get upgraded on that basis...this is what happened in our seniors' batch..

Taking an example, my preferences are suppose Fin, FT, HR, IB, IT...and I am waitlisted..if I clear i.e. substantial ppl do not accept offer, I wud first b chkd for Fin..ie. if seats r remaining in that after ppl ranked higher than me...if not, I ll b chkd for FT and so on.

I think this is a very logical and had taken place for our seniors and most probably is being used for you all..

Hope I have put some apprehensions to rest..

The upgradation will happen only IF we want it or in general? For example, if i've been offered HR, my preferences being FT,IT,HR...and if seats remain in IT...will i be upgraded to IT automatically. Will there be no way I could continue with HR even if seats in IT remain vacant?

Is it true that i cannot opt for FINANCE as MAJOR in PGDM?
I have been admitted to PGDM-Finance & i want FINANCE!
My preference order was:
1.General/Finance (Not Sure :nervous: )
2.General/Finance (Not Sure :nervous: )
3.IT
4.xxxxx
5.xxxxx

Suppose my first preference was "General", will they upgrade me to General? If i cannot take Finance in General, i am happy with PGDM-Finance.


Another query, while filing up the form, we had to mention workex till June 2008. So i wrote 11 months. But i had quit my job 4 months before, so i have 7 months workex. Is that a PROBLEM? :death:
