its kinda for sure that al ppl not in first list have been but on waiting on the site..

i just entrd most f d imi selectd candidates numbr in imt site n for al it showed eithr convrtd or waitlistd.. noone s being shown as rejctd.. guess d real picture wud b clear only on 17th..

im also..:nervous: one f the waiting ones

well well.. a very contentious choice these days..
comparisons arnt allowed on pg so ill list a few pros and cons .. you can make a choice yourself..

IMT-G
PROS:

1. Unbeatable placements
2. Awesome campus
3. Great Faculty

CONS:
not many, but still

1. Large batch size.. may prove a problem during placement..
2. Located in Ghaziabad.. far far far away from civilization(ok ok.. not that far)


IMI

PROS:
1. Again, great faculty
2. Upcoming
3. Located in the heart of New Delhi

CONS:

1. Very samll campus...
2. No hostels for everyone.. and not all hostels on campus itself.. people living in and around delhi arnt sure to get hostel.. well i wouldnt have anyway.. i live at a walking distance from imi
3. Not very well known outside delhi/ncr

well must say though they've released the list but the administration of the whole affair has been overtly unimpressive.

I see the following flaws in the admission process :

1) They asked for preference just before GD/PI. This is sick. You are forcing people to make the most mportant decision of their life withing half an hour that too just before the GD/PI process.
2) Once you have asked for a preference, only the topmost preference should be taken into account as this is something which one is almost sure of doing if given an option. In some cases 2nd and even 3rd choices have been imposed on the candidates as the final converts. Now these guys wll have an additional burden to submit the first installment to remain in contention even if they are 100% sure of not joining the insti with same preference.
3) The waitlist woes have already been mentioned in all the previous pages.

End result being - everybody confused with what's next!!!
I can't blame IMT since IMT is a gr8 old institute which has produce some world class managers but in my opinion, the current administrators are definitily the one who faltered at each and every step of the admission process and I would be justified to say that they have messed it up ROYALLY.

Hope, ppl get what they truly deserve.

hi cruiser and other seniors active on the thread

i have converted pgdm(ib) and it was my second pref,marketing,hr and it being my 3rd,4rth and 5th preferences respectively.
now say if i want to be upgraded to pgdm(fin) which is my first choice will i and people with a convert in their second pref(be it marketing,hr,it or ib) be given the first option to do so or will the marketing people be given the first pref,because simply put marketing is the second most preferred choice for maximum people if not all.
according to the info that i have from last years thread finance,marketing,ib,it and hr are the choices for people in the order in which i have mentioned

please guide me here because i already have a convert from imi and i might skip imt for imi if i dont get finance in imt.


btw:if someone has ib as their first option and finance as their 2nd or 3rd option and got a convert in fin i am more than willing to swap places.

no offense and i have no idea bout nmims or imi being better but seriously nitie wud have been a dream come true for me personally
but then am sure its simple logic that nitie comes ahead of imt G

hey.. i just tried a few random names from the imi selected candidates list... and they were all waitlisted... a couple of "no records found" (probably the folks who didnt bother applyin)

i guess its because they've change from the earlier counselling system and are probably expecting a great waitlist movement..
maybe a letter from there side would make things clearer...
