not takin it...
IMT cud hv been more transparent..
nyways no probs coz had made up mind to attempt cat next yr...
with 98.45%ile and a mindblowing gd/pi(acc to my standards)..i cudn't convert IMT-G...
lets see whts in store for me next yr:batman:

I can understand your agony.
I might get some groans on this post also but think about IMT people. Here is some analysis:

No of people who took CAT = 2,00,000 to 2,30,000
Cut off percentile for IMT G = 96 %tile
4 %tile of 2,00,000 to 2,30,000 = 8000 to 9200 people

Now, among this, 75% of people had applied for IMT G: that means = 6000 to 6900 people.
There are around 2250 seats in IIM's, MDI, NITIE and SP JAIN (Approximately, Taking the best max. case).

So eligible candidates = 6000(min. of 6000 and 6900) - 2250
= 3750
Subtract people going through XAT,FMS,JMET etc.
Still, we have = 3750 - 1750 (The best max case)
= 2000 (minimum) people

Now seats at IMT = 360, So for 360 we are having atleast 1500 to 2000 people (after all the seats of IIM's,MDI,SP JAIN etc) (competition of 4 to 5 times per seat)

A person having 99 percentile is surely brilliant, no doubt in that. But might be he was having a bad day on its GD/PI.
A person having percentile in 98 or 99 (or even in 96 and 97) and having a wonderful GD/PI might be lacking in WorkEx or academics.

Friends, very tough competition out there, little bit of Bad Luck can cause a huge harm.
I am thankful to GOD that i have been selected in such reputed institutions.
And those who are not so fortunate, believe in 'UPPAR WALA', you have something better in store for you.

wow... after so many months of being a silent observer, it feels gud to finally get to write a post on pagalguy.com ...i had made a promise to myself that i will write my first post only when i get a final convert...

and that day happened to be today!!

after so many months of waiting, and the endless waiting lists... the wait is finally over!

i got offered PGDM (IB) at IMT Ghaziabad 2008-2010

this is a big biggg deal for me, especially since i am just a BMS graduate with average academics and no work experience... all i had was a will to perform and to prove to myself that i deserve better than this...

having left campus placements while graduating, just to focus on GD/PI preparation was really a decision that i had been contemplating over since the past month, especially since no converts were coming my way...

oh btw, i scored a 98.59% in CAT, wid' 99.73% in VA, 93.44% in QA, and 83.44% in DI ...and although it managed to get me an IIM-Indore call, this convert surely means much more than that... currently i'm waitlisted at #46 at IIM-I ...hope to get through there too!!

thanks puys for all your constant support, even though u wouldn't know it, reading your posts and reaffirming messages to have patience and wait really helped me sail through this rough patch...

Hi all

Got thru' IMT Nagpur PGDM-finance. got a call letter today. Wnt be taking that. Gim is my present choice.

Any sugggestions whether this call makes my chances for PGDM-Fin at IMT-G easier or tougher.

i also withdrew my fees frm IMT finance,the procedure is..u just have to submit a refund letter along with ur orignal offer letter..they will give u a receiving receipt and the refund cheque will be mailed to ur residence..
