And now when i finally thought of some respite coming my way, i was hit with congratulations on gettin thru IMT N (FT). There has to be some clarification regarding the possible upgradation to IMT G.
Will the real seniors plz stand up!!!

I got into IMT (IB) - GZB. Paid the tuition installment to book my seat there on the 16th. MDI results came out the next day. Cleared it, and went to IMT the next day to submit my refund letter.

I think I was the first one, because they were still sorting out the tuition drafts.

Checked today..got confirmed for IB(Ghaziabad) (2nd preference)..

1st pref: PGDM(FT)..

Percentile : 96.45%

It would have saved me a lot of pain and money if they could have specified that ppl below 96 percentile will be for Nagpur instead of making us wait till now.

The only point here is it doesn't behove an institute of IMTs reputation to do all this.

I have also attended XIMBs GDPI so i can vouch how much better managed their admission process has been.

Ok buddy, see its ok to see your anguish, but then a college with 300+ seats to fill needs to do something different. There is still quite a chance of upgrades. I mean as the analysis done by saurabh bishnoi-wonderful work there dude, the waitlist should move quite a bit by 30th, and by then iim results would also be out, so i guess you could have a chance of IMT-G. And as far as IMT-G is concerned, it has its reputation to protect cause the kind of students it gets depends upon its perception, which this time around has taken a beating.

But as i have said before, IMT has a wonderful and dedicated crowd of people, dont worry they would not be sitting idle. I have full faith in IMT people that whatever steps they take, they would evaluate them and do whats correct, yes it might take a little time. So lets wait till 30th and give IMT a chance to respond.

So much of frustation on IMT is not good believe me ,

We all know that the CAT score has a high weightage (not 100 %) other things are equally important.

What if the people with lower ranks were still in the waitlist category ? there wudnt have been groans

so instead of just making you wait it is a smoother and surely a better way to say that u have been not selected for IMT-G, You dont feel the pinch of getting rejected somewhere believe me. First i was frustated too but now i understand , they just did not want people to keep hopes for IMT-G , there mayb some criteria like ranks mayb Ranks of 800 + are now offered IMT-N , or whtever it depends on the insti, i m pretty sure IMT-N students will be upgraded to IMT-G only when all these waitlisted people clear it .

I know some one with 96.39 %ile who got IMT-N Yesterday. so its not just 95-96, its ranks i guess.

A request. In case if anyone is going to insti, ask them whether there will be upgradation from IMT N to IMT G for ppl who have >95%ile. For the same, also find out whether we need to pay fee or not. Nothing has been mentioned in results page.
i will be grateful if any senior could clarify this after contacting admin unit.

as per this.. afaik.. this year the weightages has been changed and due weightage has been given to profile apart from CAT score.
