Hey Saurabh,

Batch of 2007, had a total sanctioned strength of 120 for IM, against which 87 people were taken...
Its from Batch of 2008, that the sanctioned strength increased to 180 for IM. Our batch (Batch of 2009) is the second batch with a total sanctioned strength of 180, and the incoming batch will be the 3rd one...

So there's absolutely no typo...

Hello Arvind,

You can definitely send someone else to deposit your DD. Do follow the following instructions:
1.
(i) Write your Name, NITIE Application Number and you Direct Contact Number at the back of the DD.
(ii) Before you send the DD, make sure you have taken a xerox of the same.
(iii) It's advisable to attach a cover letter saying something like "I have been selected for PGDIM XV/PGDISEM 8/PGDITM 3 (whatever be the case), and my name appears on the website at this particular serial number. I am attaching the DD (with DD Details like DD Date/Number/Bank) for the same."

2. The person should go to PG Block, 4th Floor. There in the academics office he/she can submit the DD.

3. AFAIK, only DD will suffice... However, I will confirm it once the office opens on Monday...

1. NITIE is known for its strength in SCM/Operations. Think about Operations and the first thing come to the mind is NITIE... Such is the reputation...
Offcourse, off late we have been diversifying ourselves into other areas like Finance, Marketing and Systems... and we have been able to achieve great success. The links below are there to tell the story...

The kind of profile being offered by SCM/Ops companies vary from:
Purchase Operations and Product Supply, Inventory Management, Logistics Handling and Consulting, Supplier/Vendor Relationship Management and the likes...

2. Yes, companies do offer consults role in SCM. And for NITIE, its more of a norm rather than an exception.

3. Guess... u will fall short by around 3-5 months for being treated as a lateral candidate... U will be treated as a fresher only.
However, you can definitely take advantage of your work ex, provided you can prove the HR of the companies that you have really added some value in yourself which these HRs can leverage...

4. There's nothing like people specializing in Operations get less than people specializing in Finance. It all depends on the kind of profile and the companies pay policies... It may so happen that for a particular company and for a particular profile, the package for Operations is more than some other particular company and some other particular profile in Finance. Similarly the vice versa is also true... Actually, you really can't compare it like this...
As a matter of fact the highest international offer has been by a multinational for a SCM profile only...

Sorry for not updating earlier. I am not an active PG. I have an offer from NITIE - PGISEM. I am waiting for SP Jain and IIMB honestly - should know by 10th April - till then I have already arranged for loan for NITIE. Will update as and when I know about it. All the best!

Hi,

Congrats to all who got selected, Best luck for others.

I have not applied for NITIE thinking that i will not get that big score in CAT.
But fortunately/Unfortunately i have scored 98 .
Though my Quant %le was 71 only [:(], i thought it would have been better if i could have applied for NITIE.

I have tried to contact Admission Committe member Sadhana Ghosh, but unfortunately it didnt worked out.

I heard NITIE considers Quant cutoff particularly. Thinking by that way i think t i would not have got call also, from NITIE.

Is there anybody who has been selected, got such less %le in Quant? I was just curious on that.

Hi Arvind and other PGs,

Finally I am able to see my letter and this is the summary.
1.) information regarding fees and confirmation of admission
2.) rules and regulations governing admission
3.) Annex 1: Acknowledgment of admission with DD information ( I am attaching its pic) this is what we need to send rite now with the DD.
4.) Annex 2: Medical certificate ( need to get it filled and bring at the time of admission)
5.) Annex 3: Undertaking ( need to fill it and submit it at the time of admission)

So, rite now we need to get the DD done of Rs. 1,30,500 in favor of "NITIE, MUMBAI" and send it along with the Acknowledgment letter.
