Cat percentile and B schools mapping - 17-03-2008, 09:48 AM

hi

I got 91.8 percentile in CAT 2007.
Did not apply in any school as I think this score aint gonna get me anywhere.

But then some of my friends said I could get into some of the colleges that are OK OK types.

I have 2.5+ years exp in Software development and I am dieing to get out of this role (change the industry preferably.)

Can somebody help me with a score-college mapping list so that I can have some idea of what score can get me where.

Also whats the best option I have with 91.8 percentile (other than getting a better score for CAT 2008 ).

thanks in advance
pv

the application process for most of the good instts. is over for session 2008.... u can only apply nxt yr.
well u can hv alot of colleges in that range n also the cutoff for all instts vary each yr.
at this score u can expect IMT-N, KJS, tapmi(if balanced sectionals), welingkar etc.

hope this helps

If you are a graduate from some of the best colleges in the country ( IIT/top NITs/Xavier's/etc , then suggest you to hold on this year and take CAT/XAT/GMAT 2008/09 , try and get a better score and apply . That's because the current brand equity should not fade away while opting a BSchool. It should look like an informed move in your resume and not a desperate one. Once through with a good score you have many options like IIMs/XL/SP JIMR/NITIE/XIMB etc among the regular ones and ISB/Great Lakes among the 1 yr intensive ones with international tie-ups.
Rest up to you to decide
