About GD,
As far as I heard from the candidates those who have appeared(I was there for 2 days) all the topics were general only. no topic was related to current affiars..My topic was "youngsters go for branded products"...All spoke well and decently.....The type of GD depends on your batch mates.....other GD topics are like
"youngsters like ancient music and art",
"unlearning the process of learning" and stuff like that..

maximum there may be 10 candidates, you will be given a topic and givan time of 1 min to think...they ask us not to use any paper....then they will give a bell signaling to start...then after 16 mins a bell will be givan signalling that only 2 mins are left....then after 2 mins a final bell will be given....
after that you will be given 5mins to write about the GD.....

then interview......

before you enter the panel, they will go the form that you have filled. so be through with the form...questions will be based on what you have written in the form.....for freshers tell about yourself question will be there.....and for freshers, questions will be there on acads......but all the questions will be basic....the panel will be very friendly,so dont worry....

@ferdinand,

you need to carry original copies of all ur mark-sheets ( 10th onwards...) , ur work-exp certificates ( if applicable ) and your extra-curriculars ( whatever u have mentioned in ur detailed application form ) and your CAT Score card and admit card .

In the writeup after GD should we write our view about the topic or what was discussed in the GD like how and what everyone spoke ?

hi dhilip,

i think it should be the summary.
they asked for the report of the GD.
it means, you should write the report on the discussion (Don't put your own views or fresh points there).. write about al the points you have discussed n the conclusion which the team has come up with.

More over, refrain from saying that , the process started , he said this, he opposed this.. (Just a precaution.. i very wel know that no one will be writing so... please dont groan )

16min(discussion) then comes a beep...
2min(for conclusion)
5min(to make out a report of the discussion)

Was nice & interactive. Moderator never interfered inspite of the gd 's slight drift towards a fish market, he was so calm & spoke very few words.
my humble suggestions:
i. plz make use of statistical data's-only if required.
ii. In your report try and reflect the points discussed & consensus met, rather than ur own opinions

sorry if u are lookin for d nature of pi q's regarding academics
i had no such q's(bcoz of my profile! think so!)

15th march @trichy.
2.00pm batch

My Profile: 32 Months of work ex (as of now ) in leading software firm

Went to MHD campus by 1:30pm. First they have verified my mark sheets and asked me to fill one form, which has candidate details like ( name,application number, UG% etc).

I was the penultimate guy for the interview. I went into the interview panel with open mind. I didn't think of anything but humming a.r.rehman song.

Personal Interview went well. I hope i have answered all the questions they asked to me

PANEL MEMBERS: 3 Members ( only 2 have asked the question, 1 kept silent through-out the interview)

Questions:
1.Tell me about yourself ( me: I started of saying my work and my contributions)
2.What is a web-application project? ( me: To be short,all the websites that we see on the internet i.e, browsers like IE,Mozilla are web application)
3.What is your role in the projects (me: I said module lead and explained the whole work flow)
4.How much is your team size? (me:answered)
5.What do you think is essential for a good team ? ( Me: appreciation and recognition and explained the same)
6.How will you understand a team member? ( me: i will first give one piece of module; based on his performance i will analyze him self and give my inputs to him)
7.I feel you are happy with your current company then why do you want to do MBA? (me : Yes! I am happy with my current company then i told my long term career goal to start of my own consulting firm, spoke nearly 5 min for this)
8.Why we want to give admission to you in BIM?
9. what will you do if you become an alumini of BIM?
10.They said thank you, you may leave.

Within 5 min they have started the GD ( as i was in the last batch and the time was 5:30PM)

Total Time 18 min ( 16min for Disc and 2min for conclusion)
5 min for write-ups

I started first but the Moderator asked me to wait some more time.
When he say start other guy has started he spoke for nearly 1 min. Then when the time he completes i stated gave some 3 points. Every one shared their views. Spoke 5 times on disc and 1 on conclusion. The GD was nice. i guess i spoke well.

Moderator asked everyone to write report. So i wrote the report saying points on the Supporting team and the opposition team. But i didn't have time to write the conclusion i just scribbled and gave the conclusion point. I think he might not understand that point.'

on a whole GD went fine..

Thanks for all the BIM mates they were very helpful through out the process.

I hope i have shared enough of my experience, Now i am waiting for my results
