Re: BIM Trichy 2008 GD/PI Experiences - 17-03-2008, 09:51 AM

Oooff my post GD/PI anxiety is worse than my pre GDS/PI anxiety….

To tell about myself, I am a guy with 3yrs work exp.

My GD topic was ‘Does Economic development mean Social development’ – was a team mate for ‘madeforiim’
As she said, every one did well and the GD was very well organized….oooff that’s the scariest part….

My PI was completely non technical….thank God….I have already done my MS and they asked me why I did it…..they asked about my strengths, about my company, my nature of job, the important quality to be a team member…etc….PI went well…

Seniors were very supportive....thx for that

PS: Guys who want to go early for their post lunch session would have to take lunch along with them....the campus mess is a real mess...no food for outsiders...

I am finding it difficult to wait now…..God pls help me

cheers,
Thiru

thanks a zillion thiru....hope you make it...

Could you elaborate on the way the GD is conducted ?: Is there a 1 min time given initially for each participant to speak n then the GD .....or is it a GD for all of 15-20 mins ??
Also, is everyone asked to conclude at the end ??

I assume, at the end, we have to write the main points discussed in the GD and submit it to them...right ??

Thanks a lot buddy...

thx a ton for ur wishes....u cant understnad how restless iam now...LOL

When you enter the GD hall (u would be a team of 9 to 10), you would be given numbers from 1 - 10 and asked to sit around a table. The GD coordinator would then give a topic and ask u all to think about it for a min...he would then officially open the discussion....it would be a conventional GD with every one waiting to grab the oppertunity to talk....at the end of the 16th min the GD coordinator would ring a warning bell...it means u still have 2 more min left to wind up...at the end of the 18th min the GD would be closed and u would be given 5 min to put down on paper the gist of the GD...

cheers,
Thiru

PS: does any one know for how many days is the GD/PI is scheduled at trichy, chennai and b'lore?

Re: BIM Trichy 2008 GD/PI Experiences - 17-03-2008, 02:51 PM

hi puys,

I have attended the GD/PI on 15th. I am a fresher doing engineering. I will say about the whole process,

First, there will be a presentation done by the students about BIM. Then depending on your name on the list, you will be called for GD or PI or Certificate verification.(Anything may be done first).

About GD,
As far as I heard from the candidates those who have appeared(I was there for 2 days) all the topics were general only. no topic was related to current affiars..My topic was "youngsters go for branded products"...All spoke well and decently.....The type of GD depends on your batch mates.....other GD topics are like
"youngsters like ancient music and art",
"unlearning the process of learning" and stuff like that..:snipersm:

maximum there may be 10 candidates, you will be given a topic and givan time of 1 min to think...they ask us not to use any paper....then they will give a bell signaling to start...then after 16 mins a bell will be givan signalling that only 2 mins are left....then after 2 mins a final bell will be given....
after that you will be given 5mins to write about the GD.....:crazyeye:

then interview......

before you enter the panel, they will go the form that you have filled. so be through with the form...questions will be based on what you have written in the form.....for freshers tell about yourself question will be there.....and for freshers, questions will be there on acads......but all the questions will be basic....the panel will be very friendly,so dont worry....

All the best for all.....

Be cool and finish the process....
