But right now I am not really sure what to do!! The placement figures of Great Lakes are not out yet!!
Would any friend like to express his/her opinion on this? | Following inputs from a current GLaker and I quote ----
Hi Puys,
We understand ur curiosity to see the placement report b4 paying ur intial fees. But as mentioned earlier placement process is still going on and companies that were not able to visit during the placement week are visiting us now.
And we will come out with the official placement report once the process gets completed.
To give some insights abt the placements let me give u some info abt our placements. In addition to the 61 recruiters that came last year, Great Lakes saw a 40% jump in the number of recruiters visiting for placements. 26 NEW companies in diverse fields and profiles visited the institute till date. Placement season at the institute is still going on as Great Lakes allows its students to take multiple offers. In spite of the ongoing IT slowdown, sub-prime crisis and cut in the recruitments by IT companies, Great Lakes could beat its last year’s record. The average salary of the offers made at Great Lakes till date is 9.58* lacs. More than 60 students have managed to get salaries higher than INR 10 lacs per annum. *These are indicative figures based on offers confirmed till now. However with the recruitment season still ON, these figures can only go upwards in the coming weeks.
Any specific queries like highest ,lowest, median etc can be calculated only after the process is complete. So pls wait till our placement report is out to get the complete details.
Cheers,

Hi friends...........
i have only 1.5 yr of experience and that to business i started no infi,wipro,tcs....////now if i want to join a company after my course......wot are the chances that i will be able to get a decent offer.........are the placement in glakes on past profile only or can we perform good in the course of time and get a better job than a guy with 3-5 yrs of work ex
secondly ,the placements seem to be on a lower side if we consider that majority of people in glakes are experienced?
wot kind of profiles are offered this time and wot companies?(also for a average work ex guy)
Please friends the people selected have a discussion about the insti.........not much time | | | | | | | |

Am very happy on the result.

I would prefer Great Lakes over others because the returns on investment are great. India economy is on a upward trend and US is nearing recession. It would be benifitial, doing MBA from great lakes in long run.
Does anybody have any idea on when the classes would begin in April? |
Hi Truly Yours,
I am a bit confused on which would be better among these 3..... GLIM, AIM-Manila and HKU.
Appreciate if you could provide ur thoughts on the same.

Unkindmonk or KayKay, this query may sound stupid but how strict is the mgmt about the laptop config? I dont want to spend some 40-50K on another laptop which is only marginally better than my existing one and has added non-features like webcam n fingerprint scanner.
Kindly answer.
Thanks PR,
APP NO. 8902 | Hi dude,
It aint a stupid query and we also went through the same issues last year. Management last year gave us the option of bringing ours or opting for the one being provided by the college. In case same rules apply this year too then u can very well bring ur laptop if there is no big difference in configuration.
