I was waitlist 78 and i received confirmation call from Great Lakes....
Such a relief it was........

Can I know about the placements of guys with similar profile to me???
Also, what if i want opt for FInance instead of IT as my major???
Whats the impact?? Anybody going for such a change in ur batch??
Please let me know asap....

Hi...
The placement report for 2008 is yet to be declared...wonder, if thats the reason why nearly 80 people from the original shortlist opted out of Great Lakes!!:(...doesnt not present a rosy picture ....now even I am thinking whether to join or not...puys plz comment...i m puzzled!

Guess last time round too it had come to this level. Around 80+. That's what think the unkindmonk had mentioned in an earlier post . And this time the percentiles were higher ( avg 97 +), so chances of multiple converts are high.
neways , keepin fingers crossed for the final placement report.

Well its not only Great Lakes who will feel the impact however i agree some impact can not be ruled out. Its all the more important for you guys who are coming on board to ensure that companies visiting campus get more varied......an effort which we have been making since last year. Also initiatives like increased corporate branding, regular interactions and a cohesive and proactive effort from the batch along with the management will see through any rough patch as and when it arises. .....

Hi there,

1) While first six mnths wld be tough and i was able 2 go back home only on Diwali ,ppl who were homesick sumhw managed to go back home. Hwever its reasonable to assume that u guys wont have tht liberty fr at least first 6 mnths...

2) Yup ppl do have their bikes and cars.....no need 2 sell urs!
