Jagriti,
1. Thanks
2. Do try and give a couple of examples in case you can remember. Will be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Re: MICAT 2008 - 17th feb 2008 - 18-02-2008, 12:10 PM

Hi,

The invigilator in my class room at the delhi centre specifically announced that there is no negative marking when asked about it.

Here's one of the word association questions that I remember :-
Fee
Advice
Unbalance
Salute

The options were :-
a) Tax
b) Tip -- I marked This
c) Suggest
d) 2 more i dont recall

Thanks,
Deepak

Re: MICAT 2008 - 17th feb 2008 - 18-02-2008, 07:27 PM

well guyz i m kind of puzzled....i was helping my brother who is in 10th grade...and saw his maths paper...
the first instruction said....ALL QUESTIONS ARE COMPULSORY, whch obviously doesnt mean dat he had to attempt all the questions...instead....it meant that there is no choice in the paper...and at the same time i ve heard dat last year there were options in the MICAT.

i mean even in an ideal world...one can not attempt 110 questions in 90 mins and add to it 5 essays....or mica ppl mite b too insane to make students depend on their luck to a major extent...cuz i was able to attempt arnd 75 of all d questions and wrote 4 essayz....

so basically...i m trying to deviate ur attention to this.....i understood it as no choices...may be i m absolutely wrong...( whch i often m not..)
thanx....i guess...this wud create waves in some stomachs...

lemme knw wat u all think of this....

except the first section which i loved all others were MAT level.cant understand what they were checking.. another thing about this exam.. they asked us to bring pencil paper rubber sharpener and a FOOT RULER.. i didnt even have to break the seal.. useless instruction!

from youe experience... is it better to attempt the essays first n then the rest of the test...assuming the pattern would be same for tomm....

ya i agree with you totally! and imagine my condition when someone mentioned that there *might* be negative marking for unattempted questions! i really didn't have time to go on a random marking spree and it made me feel horrible... only after going through other posts(and this one) i felt kinda better, though i'm still feeling low that I couldn't do my best in MICAT... i'm still hoping though

puys, please refrain from posting such assumptions like negative marking, all questions in the paper should be done else disqualified etc etc... its really easy to post what you feel about what's going to happen without any factual basis infact u might even mention you're not sure and stuff, but it can also make someone else miserable(like me!)...

anyway here's wishing you good luck!

One association i can vaguely remember
A B
Trunk Boot
Shoe .....
...
..
There was also some question involving term "turing test"
