HI all,
had my gd/pi on the 3rd at chennai...sorry for taking so long, but got held up with some personal work.....The GD's here are case studies...The one given to our group of 8 was about a senior mgr, 6 years exp, after having attended lots of team building seminars being labeled as "authoritative and autocratic" by his subordinates. He counters by saying his employees are incompetent (or something of that sort) and defends his behavior. Discuss ways of helping both parties out....5 mins to understand and 15 mins to discuss with an advance 4 minute warning given towards the end. Everyone was cooperative, and we all reached a consensus without too much of a problem...The topics are not very hard. Just enjoy yourself and let everyone have their say....Listen attentively. They tell you the criteria for marking before the GD starts, so listen to that!!!
Then waited about a bit for the interview...It completely depends on the panel that you get. Some of them are cool...and don't really hassle you too much, some are more of the stress interview types. I got into a panel which seemed to be somewhere in the middle... Three person panel, and they focus a lot on the essays that you've written. Majority of the questions will be from that. In fact they took nearly 10 mins before my interview to go through what i had written. My long term goal was to be an entrepreneur so kinda got grilled on that. Answered to the best of my ability, but here and there a couple of questions (such as : "What would a venture capitalist look for when u're trying to get financial backing for your project?") couldn't elicit the proper response they wanted. They asked about the Tata NANO in all it's minuteness and about my work experience. Asked some questions in software engineering such as "Scope Creep" which I had to ended up making very educated guesses. Otherwise all in all a pretty decent interview. Took around 20-25 mins, but somehow came out feeling that I'm not what they are looking for :dontgeti:....
Lets see what happens...All the best for the guys attending gd/pi at b'lore, delhi, hyderabad, mumbai and kolkatta.
