Seniors please throw some light....
In IIMA form it is explicitly mentioned that "
marks and percentages should be computed taking all subjects/papers that you appeared in the examinations even if some of these subjects/papers are not considered by the board/university for computing final percentages of marks and awarding class/distinctions"....
I am from WB and did my secondary and higher secondary both under my state boards where are papers called additional in sec and 4th paper in HS from which some marks (after some calculation) are added to the marks got in all other papers but it's not taken to calculate maximum total marks. We have 5 papers in HS (5X200 =1000) and an additional paper of 200 marks. Now suppose I get 180 in that paper, 180-60 = 120 is added to my marks but the total marks remain 1000. Actually it helps us boosting our percentage marks and help it look comparable with marks of other boards, CBSE/ICSE etc as our humanities papers are completely subjective where even the board toppers can't manage more than arnd 70%

.
I have checked that if I have to follow the process as asked, my above 90% feel good acads will come down to ok type 80% where my frnds from CBSE/ISC will lose only 1~2 percentage points

. Seniors from my board (WBBSE, WBCHSE) or from other boards who had also suffered from same dilemma previously , please suggest what to do??? Is IIMA aware of this type of disparities of marks in different boards? I was talking with one of my fellow mates and he has told me that they might know this and will keep that in mind while giving acads weightage (if any, at all), but he was worried of the fact that those mediocre marks of ours may not impress the interviewers as they might not be aware of all these...
