Hey man,
I've been reading books since I was 7 or so...so verbal was not a prob. It's actually quite funny how I got into the habit, thanks to my seemingly selfish bro...will share it some other time...
DI is logical, and I think an above average performance is easily manageable.
It's quant which is the make-or-break subject. I spent 1.5 hours out of 2.5 hours on just quant in 2k7, so I plan to actually learn the formulas this time...people tell me that helps
I'm "working" (actually not much work but have to be in the office half the day :robot:...and no CAT books, obviously) and so not really started with the prep.
Will start with quant soon...just as soon as I finish watching all these tv shows on my comp (The Office and How I Met Your Mother are AWESOME ).
How about you guys...

Well with so less preparation if you're still manage to put up a consistent show two years in a row, it certainly means that you can crack CAT with a bit more effort and preparation.
Regarding QA, more than knowing the formulaes, it's useful to know the correct approach to solve the problems. The "correct" approach varies from person to person and only you can find out which works out well and fastest for you. So I would suggest you to know the formulaes but at the same time, try and form such methods that even if you don't remember the formulaes, you don't get stuck for long periods and can formulate on your own.
Btw, how did you manage such a good score in all the sections despite using 1.5 hrs for QA??? It's really commendable.....
Best of luck...

Really really commendable man.decent scores with such a little prep...Well my position very much like you only.9 hours of job,but much of sitting than working, freshers are treated the same way in any company i guess.
Regarding my journey,CAT 2006---->87%(and that too with full fledged prep, but the direction was not correct.Made serious blunders during preparation phase)
CAT 2007--->>93.10%(and this time not even a single page of prep)
So trying to give my best minus all my previous blunders this time.
For me verbal is the nemesis, scored a single mark in 2006.Dont know how i managed to get 20 marks in VA in CAT 07.

yeah you r rite...
freshers are treated like that everywhere...
mine is the same case...no work but have to sit for around 10 hours in the ofc...:sly:
anyways...mine was the first attempt last year...got 92 smth in CAT but 98.5 in XAT (cudnt get a call coz of low QA sectional, prep for only 2-3 months, only CL mock tests)...
it made me realize my actual ability...so thats why planning to take cat with full vigor this year...:-)

hi jain.er,
its the case in almost all the software companies...(like TCS infy wipro etc etc)...
i have my classmates in all of these...n their condition is same as i told...
the question that arises is what we ppl do...
one answer is as you can see what i am doing right now...
there are other answers too...:-)
i try to read the online editions of newspapers to improve my VA...and as i have an interest in stock markets...i track it and invest...
work pressure is totally project dependent...if a high priority project is there then pressure is high and vice versa...
i m luckily out of a high pressure project just a month ago...:hurray:
i think it all depends on the individual's interest...how does one want to use the free time...constructively or smth else...
