no dude, 3-4years would be ideal , they had mentioned a range and allocated some weightage to it . Only IIMB had revealed the selection criteria. i think u can find that pdf in their website . ( selection criteria for 2006 or something like that ).

hi Fakkad,
u r right that IIMA has more freshers in their batch...
but if u get to see the placement stats...u ll find that the laterals ( with relevant work experience ) are offered quite higher salaries as compared to their fresher counterparts...
on the funnier side...one of my friends in IIMC told me the fact that a software engineer's work ex isn't considered worthy if he's graduating in pure finance or pure marketing...:-)

first of all i would not even bother to think if the class has got only freshers or experienced uncles/aunties if i make into IIMA.
Well nowadays most of the B-schools have a good mix of both freshers and experienced people. I think ex or no ex should not be a hindrance to join a top B-school atleast in INDIA(except ISB ) if u do well in CAT,GD/PI . u just find a solid reason why u want to do MBA .

yeah Ideacrash,
that must be the spirit while preparing...:grab:
just wanted to share...one of my colleagues from the US found it very interesting that the IIMs (premier institutes in India) also admit freshers for MBA...;-)

yaar when he is saying laterals got a huge pay in the placements that means , they got admission into IIMs right , without admission u cannot sit for palcements .
U can get into any IIM with ur 3 years of work exeprience. and if ur doing MBA to boast ur experience then even better , for example u are from software industry and u wanna become a business analyst , u are in some brokerage frim and u want to move into a big investment banking and wanna handle more resposibility no body can stop u . u are a doctor and wanna own ur own nursing home, u can find a lot examples like this.

Experience is never a hindrance! I have a workex of over 5 years, and it has helped me a lot. It's just that in your interview, you'd be expected to do justice to your experience. So, expect a lot of questions about your job, your organization, your goals, etc.

he he...
your doubt is appropriate Fakkad...;-)
but i don't think one gets a preference on being a fresher as compared to an experience candidate...
