Faculty is good , he told us to look on the question with a different perspective, gave some good examples from last CAT exams.
a simple question was given by him , it was
How many possible values are there for a and b in equation a^2 - b^2 =417.
all the students made mistake as they started solving by making the equation like
(a+b)(a-b)=417. and said that there are 8 possible values.
BUT Faculty told us that , think for the question like a^2 = 417 + b^2.
then for every value of b ,you will get a value of a , so it has infinite solutions
BASIC is that questions do have some tricks in them so we have to develop a CAT attitude for that.

Plz don't think that you're good at QA or VA, just for the heck of it..... maybe you got good scores in CAT, if that's so, only then u have a point, otherwise not....
Regarding your speed, you'll get it when you practice more(this time, probably u didn't practice more enough)..... So that's it, focus on concepts, speed will come automatically when ur concepts are strong.....

A tip that I thought of for VA preps:
1. Print/cut out out 4-5 lines of a para from a paper like the Hindu BEFORE you read the article.
2. Jumble up the slips of paper containing a line each.
3. Reassemble the paragraph as per the logical flow that you identify.
4. Read the original article and check for your performance.
In my opinion, this will help you build that ability to connect sentences into paragraphs. Feel free to PM me if you need any further help.
Cheers!

thnx avinav....... I started preparing 1.5 hrs daily for 6 days a week. I divide each chapter into 2: Basics and CAT Problems. and I devote 1 day for each. So, 2 days for a topic in BRM. (finished 1 module in all out of 4) I also read basic grammer in between. Is that enough?

Balaji

I think you are surely going at a good rate but maintain the momentum, that's all.... Surely 1.5 hrs for 6 days a week, you're doing a gr8 job by managing your work and study.... Keep going!!! All the best

i have an aversion towards DI which involves intense calculation and the answer options something like 45.45%, 45.47%, 45.39%, etc. I usually calculate single decimals (to speedup calculation). Suggest me some tips to calculate fast
