I feel classes are rather important coz they help you maintain the necessary rigor of studies. Moreover, for a working professional, a class also provides a forum to interact with peers, and gain their insights.

True tht for CAT reading speed doesnt matter much.
But for exams like FMS, reading speed is a lethal weapon and a must in everyone's armoury.

N yup, reading from diverse ares is also critical. In FMS i think all 5 RC from from diff area.

Thanx for those links...

that's very true. but again if one can read wide variety of articles, and with decent understanding the speed will automatically come up. its like a trade off kind of situation whr only speed or understanding doesnot stand a chance, one needs a combo of both. this can come only thru reading reading and only reading

i accept partially, reading from diverse areas is important. but CAT is highly unpredictable. who knows in CAT 2008 there may be more number of questions which demands attempting more passages in less time,..then reading speed also plays a crucial rule. its better to be prepared for that also.

thnxx a lot for creating the official 2008 working professionals thread.
I work as a DBA for British Telecom, and often have to work during UK timings. Is there anyone else who works in night shifts.
Maybe s/he can give me a suggestion or two for time management .

thanks in advance.

IIM-B,IIM-L,SPJAIN-IMR are some institutes which give lot of emphasis to academic performance all through. But that souldn't be a discouraging factor in giving CAT?XAT etc your best shot
